ScaleHouse Lounge is a basement bar that showcases farming memorabilia featuring the main bar created from an actual grain bin. Everything in the lounge is original. The lounge located in the back of 407 Lincoln Hwy. Rochelle, Il. and is below Acres Bistro. The bar serves a fantastic menu which includes comfort foods along with upscale items. Extensive selection of craft beers, domestic beers, wines, and custom cocktails. Daily events – ladies night, bingo, trivia, live music, karaoke, touch tunes, and much more. Indoor and outdoor seating available and it is family friendly. There is always something going on at ScaleHouse Lounge & Slots.

After reading all the great reviews we tried this place.
It is loud. hard walls and ceilings made sound bounce making conversation difficult.
Service was slow. It was a little busy ok, but the abrupt nature of the experience left both of us questioning our choice of going there. It was a long day on the road and we entered hungry and ready to enjoy a meal at a “good” place.
When my arm was shoved out of the way to deliver food, it capped the experience. Most of the craft beers they offer were not in stock.
We ordered a “New” item French onion soup. It was sweet – almost strikingly so. Onions were not caramelized, the broth was similar to a discount carton and the cheese unidentifiable.
The house made pasta, meatballs in fresh marinara sauce was disappointing. The pasta was grainy, thick and likely undercooked. The sauce was certainly not a fresh marinara and the meatballs were smallish hard semi round blocks that required a knife to cut. The hamburger was just off a bit – we paid and left almost all of it sitting.

For beer drinkers if you prefer craft beer or micro brew styles this is the place in this area or town. There is plenty selection to choose from with local craft beer, whereas other places nearby either don’t have any/ just regular or a very limited selection…1 maybe 2 to choose, this establishment has many. Interesting decorations and nostalgia pictures and relics on wall. Its down a little stairs from another place and somewhat hard to see at first but once you do find it, you’ll be glad that you did.

Another update: was in the mood for a salad. Had the Cobb and substituted their hot shrimp instead of chicken. It was amazing! Perfect ratio of shrimp and salad. Could probably get two portions out of the salad. Excellent service from Autumn!

Update: excellent service from Dan and Emily. We enjoyed their chicken sando. The chicken is perfectly breaded, super moist, not over done! Very good! Get the chocolate chip cookies. They’re served to you warm.
Phenomenal service with a smile from Autumn! Had the BBQ pork, excellent! The Grinder is excellent also. Not the “typical” crowd or fried foods. Excellent menu. Cool decor, beautiful curved bar, cool local farming pictures on the wall. Highly recommend!! Gambling tucked back in a private room, a dart board, Touch tunes, and just enough tvs to watch a game that they aren’t over powering. Stop down! Great addition to Rochelle. Cookies and milk are being added!! So excited!! They’re served warm and they’re delicious! Thanks Chef Mike! Get the chocolate chip cookies!! To die for!!

The hostess was prompt to seat us, lovely atmosphere the music was on point for her birthday, and the steak bites were cooked to perfection, legitimately disintegrated in my mouth. Our waiter was steadfast and quick to clear our empty plates and refresh our drinks. The Alabama burger was to die for! Her shrimp was honestly cooked to perfection, deveined and absolutely divine! We devoured most if not all main entrees. Homemade hand cut fries with their own sauce, don’t get me started on the desert, cosmic brownie cheesecake!!? She the trifle which reminds me of a German black forest sweet I had as a child. 10/10 would recommend. Kudos to the Chef and staff for a beautiful experience we’ll try to make reservations for Valentine’s Day

Honestly I’m pretty surprised this quality food comes from this small town. My wife and I were just passing through and decided to stop in for a bite. We were both pleasantly surprised on our experience! We got the scale house burger, cuban sandwich and the amazing brussel sprouts for an appetizer! All the food was very good. The brussel sprouts are extremely good! Must try!

Chill environment with excellent food. Wife got the chicken fingers. They had really good coating that was flavorful and not greasy. I got a burger off the bistro menu. Fresh locally sourced beef that was fantastic. There were all kinds of things going on with the burger and the combination was outstanding.
Would like to see more craft stouts and porters available because I’m not a fan of IPA or mass produced lagers. Bartender was super friendly and definitely pointed us in the direction of great things to order

One of my new favorite bar/restaurants! Delicious Food and Great Service! I had the Cuban and Hand Cut Fries – and warm *from scratch* chocolate chip cookies (come in 5 smallish cookies now- which was nice so I could share with others at the bar)
