Decided to come here for a birthday dinner because we wanted izakaya vibes and didnt want to make the trip into the city. Seriously, go hang out at this place before some influencer blows them up lol. Food was really good, definitely the best karaage chicken in the near west suburbs. Sushi rolls were also great, presentation of everything was like the right cross between instagrammable and cozy (I have no idea what I’m saying just go with me here). As soon as we finished we were like…yeah we’d come back for sure! Already looking forward to the next trip.

Wow, incredible and authentic izakaya in Forest Park. Can compete with comparable spots in the city like Tengoku Aburiya but with less fuss, better service, and half the price. Highly recommend and will be sad when Happy Izakaya gets too popular to casually walk in on a Saturday night.

So nice to have a delicious sushi and udon place in Forest Park. I really like the upstairs because it’s quiet – as downstairs is more family (kid) friendly. The upstairs is a place I can quietly enjoy my food and relax. I hope to be able to experience the fireplace on one day.
