The food is incredibly delicious!! Even the tortillas are made fresh and melt in your mouth. The carne asada was tender and very flavorful!

We were craving pupusas, and we wanted to give this place a shot. The place itself did not look that pretty, but from my point of view, it looked clean to me. At first we were the only ones, so I was getting worried, but when we placed our order, I saw the lady started prepping them on the spot, so I was impressed, and they tasted so fresh. The plain banana tasted good, and so did the corn tamale.

This place used to be good but I think it was sold to south American people (i noticed their accent is either Colombian or Venezuelan) and now the pupusas don’t taste like pupusas anymore, unless thigs have changed lately I sure hope they now have real Salvadoran food 🙂
I am from El Salvador and know real Salvadoran food 🙂

The staff was welcoming and cooked my food really fast. When it came out it was warm and delicious. It was cool to try something new.

El Viroleño has a lovely staff of bilingual (English/Spanish) women who were kind and polite. The restaurant was beautiful with rich colors and a cozy, peaceful vibe. The menu is bilingual and varied with delicious dessert options. The service was fast, the food was very good with large portions with affordable prices. Our party ordered frijoles con queso pupusas which were beautifully plated atop a bed of shredded cabbage with a delicious sauce. There is limited street parking but ample parking across the street. I highly recommend as you will just love the flavorful food here!

As vegans, it can be tricky to go into a restaurant without any vegan options on the menu. But the young man at the front counter was very nice, and after I explained our dietary restrictions in Spanish, he helped us order some delicious food. The Salvadoran slaw and salsa that he brought were a perfect addition to the meal. The food in the photo doesn’t look great, because we had already dug in it, but it was delicious! And everyone was so nice. I highly recommend.

I haven’t been here for a while.
But, I’d never turn down a meal if someone took me there.
Neighborhood can be a tad sketchy. The food is excellent!
