We stopped by to listen to some jazz. There was a guy playing piano, more like dinner piano music. The music was good but not what I wanted to hear. When I called they couldn’t provide any information about the music. Positive note relaxing atmosphere , great service and drinks!! We enjoyed our time there.

Intimate but comfortable place to visit! Our server was so nice and the bartender was AMAZING. He had some new drink creations and all 4 that we got were so visually appealing and tasted perfect! We would definitely go back and try some food with drinks next time. Just wish the lighting was a LITTLE more dim. It is up a flight of stairs, but worth it!!

Love the atmosphere at 1928- its a beautiful space and great, intimate spot to grab drinks and some great food. The menu has changed since our last visit which was actually a pleasant surprise- lots of fun new drinks and bites. We both agreed our favorite drink was the Rhuzu- a rhubarb cocktail. I really appreciate that the drink menu here truly stands apart – you won’t find the same drinks on every menu in town here, lots of interesting ingredients and an emphasis on bright flavors like yuzu. Had several excellent bites, including the karaage and two of the sushi offerings- the Red Dragon and the Spicy Tuna, both of which I would order again. Surprisingly the standout though was the edamame, which was the perfect mix of salty, savory, and a little heat. Great meal and ultimately great value for four unique drinks and food! Don’t miss 1928, and be on the lookout for nights they’re offering live music, too!

In one word, underwhelming. I love the concept but the execution was lacking. First off, we got two dishes that were not what we ordered and they never brought the one that we had asked for even after we asked about it. The steak was a little tough, and everything lacked flavor. When the waitress brought our food and leaned over to set a plate down, her hair (which was down) got into the plates that hadn’t been set down yet. The service was slow, we waited for 30 minutes to get a box for the leftovers after paying. The person I was with enjoyed the Rabbit drink and the sweet potato fries, but there is nothing I would go back for. Again, love the concept but I feel like it didn’t live up to the hype.

Great little cocktail bar. Drinks were fun and service was great. Wonderful atmosphere! We had the Rabbit and the Moon River as recommended by the bartender. They were beautiful and tasted great. We also order some of their plates and enjoyed them. They were the cheese curds wontons and the steak plate. They were fantastic. Thanks for the experience!!!! The bar tender worked hard and was we loved watching him. Would highly recommend.

Loved this speakeasy! The drinks are beautiful and extravagant, perhaps a little sweet. Get The Rabbit! The small bites are easily shareable. The jazz is awesome and creates quite an atmosphere. I thought the waitstaff was the right amount of attentive and hands-off so I could properly enjoy my night.

Super unique space. Intimate and cozy. Surprised they have live music which deserves all 5 stars. Perfect date space. Small bites are also a unique and small enough to not be a huge meal. Also really appreciated the solid selection of unique NA cocktails that don’t feel like and afterthought. This place would be unique even in a larger city

So I was at 1928 for a singles event last night and I’ve been there with friends in the past it’s always been a great experience except for last night, the bartender making drinks (if I heard correctly his name is Matthew) he was extremely rude to other patrons while they were being pitched as well as very rude to me directly I would put the quotes of what he said here but Google would hide it from the level of profanity he used, now it was packed to the point where they had to call a bartender up from downstairs to help out and both him and the other bartender were fantastic very reasonable even when people were wondering where there drinks were they kept very composed, the atmosphere is wonderful and the food is unique and delicious for being here in Rochester but all of that gets overshadowed when you have to deal with rude bartender if I find out he no longer works there I would come back but until then this review will stay a 3 star and I will spend no more money there
