The food was good but I was charged for the chips and salsa which were brought to the table as soon as I sat. It wss only 1.99 but these are complimentary at all the other restaurants I’ve ever visited and especially if I didn’t order them. It just seems sneaky.

We came here several times and experiences were good. This last time, food was ok, waitresses was good but spoke very little English and didn’t know the menu. Were very easy so that wasn’t much of an issue. After we were done, I asked for a Togo box for my daughter. I was thinking that was a cue to bring me my check that we were done. We all had empty plates, just sitting there. She brought the Togo box and walked off. We all joked about them all standing at the front register talking. My kids all then used the bathroom and we sat there for about 15 minutes until she came to check on us. Yeah, I need our check. She took about five more minutes to bring us the check, we were sitting about twenty feet from them. Wasted about 20-30 minutes just to pay. I got it and I noticed now they charge for chips and salsa, we didn’t order chips and salsa and have always got them for free every time we came here. They were bland, salsa was hot and flavor just spice. When we got here they just sat them on our table, and never asked us for more when they were all out. I then noticed an up charge for using a credit card instead of cash. I didn’t want to deal with questioning them so I paid it. I don’t think we will be back unless we’re next door and in need of somewhere quick. Music also started off quiet and then before we left they turned it up to where we had to lean towards each other to talk. Again, probably won’t be back.

Went on 11/22, wish I saw the reviews first, like other reviews they brought chips and salsa to the table without us asking for it. Bland chips (from a bag not made there) and cooked hot salsa that had no flavor, to echo another review, bathwater is what it reminded me of. And they charged me 2 bucks for it ..
As for the food, non of it came out hot, mine was undercooked chile rellenos that had more sloppy water in it than flavor, and the date got enchiladas that also has no flavor and said they tasted like they microwaved them…
Also our waitress spoke no English, which can still work, but instead of trying to make it work she just pretended we did? It was good awful.

The food was really good and I loved that they had unusual dishes it is not a typical West Texas Mexican restaurant it is so much better than that great interior atmosphere and the waiters and waitresses were on the ball and seem to care about their job

For our monolingual friends, this place is pronounced “El Mall-a-cone”. This place is a great place for seafood and Mexican dishes. We were seated right away and a waitress brought chips and salsa within 30 seconds. Service was friendly and everybody spoke Spanish. They have a menu full of delicious items. The ceviche was fresh and flavorful and it can be ordered with or without shrimp, which is good for people with allergies like me. I like ordering the seafood fajitas, they were fantastic! Portions were well served, we needed a to go box when we left. Prices aren’t bad, they are pretty reasonable. We have been to three El Malecon restaurants and each one has the same great service. The atmosphere reminds you of being at the beach with lots of ocean decor. The picture is from another location, but they all have the ocean/beach theme going on which makes it a fun place to eat. We really like it here and we will be back again soon.

This place is great. If seafood and Mexican are your favorites then this place is for you. The menu features a combination of the two.A bit pricey but worth every penny. I had the shrimp tacos this time and they are the best I have ever had. I love the Molcajete dishes here and the chips and hot sauce are top notch.

I used to enjoy coming here but El Malecon restaurant has let their food quality go down. I ordered a caldo de res and it had 0 flavor, meat was tough, on top of that the vegetables were a mix of under cooked while others were old and had a bad taste. Really upsetting. I ordered for pick up and tasted it once I got home and had to throw it away.
