They take themselves seriously to give a genuine French dining experience, and they do a very good job of it. Impeccable, friendly service and very well prepared dishes. The halibut and duck entrees were excellent both for the meats and sauces although the duck fat could have been crispier. A superb Grand Marnier soufflé completed the meal. Very good wine list.

Our first time visiting. Absolutely amazing service, cuisine and atmosphere. We new have a new favorite restaurant and a new standard for excellence. Even though it was restaurant week, the plates were creative and complex. The Mushroom Vol au Vent shouldn’t be missed. Loved the Lobster Raviolo, Olive Oil Poached Halibut and Grand Marnier Soufflé. This was the best upper-end dinner experience we’ve found in the area (including Providence). Special thanks to our server, Dan. Absolutely 5-stars plus….

The food was good but not outstanding. The lobster bisque was my favorite and I would order that again. The fish tasted fresh but I wanted a bit more it terms of flavor and aroma. The soufflé dessert was great!

We had a lovely dinner at Chantarelle while staying at the Bouchard Inn. From start to finish, the experience was thoughtfully curated by the chantarelle staff.
We shared the mushroom puff pastry to start and for entrees we had the Sweetbreads and the Filet Mignon and finished with the Grand Marnier soufflé.
Highly recommend this enchanting French restaurant for a date night.

A quaint restaurant in Newport, can be a bit slow, but the wait is certainly worth it. The souffle is amazing and highly recommended. We had a number of appetizers along with a seared tuna and filet mignon for dinner, nothing disappointed.

Take it from me….If you’re only in Newport for one night, choose Chanterelle for dinner. Every detail from the door to the dinner was first class. Carmen, Dan, and Cin (?) were professional yet personal rendering the service and hospitality nothing short of excellent. However, it’s the food that you want reviewed, so….. The Cornish Hen was phenomenal with the sauce and each vegetable made to perfection. The pear tart is something to be experienced. (Hint: Ask for extra ice cream. You’ll thank me later.) Don’t forget to order coffee with dessert. The only disappointment for me is that I’m going home tomorrow and won’t be able to try more dishes.

Wonderful dinner! Loved the casual option of the back patio. The server was very busy, but that didn’t affect how we were served. She was pleasant, helped us with our selections, and made sure that we were happy with each course. It’s a super quality experience and the price is high compared to other local options, but you definitely get what you pay for. Options include caviar, champagne, a desert souffle, and some nice after dinner drink options. If you want a true fine dining experience, this is where you will find it. Inside is fancy, and the patio will give you access to all the wonderful food and service in casual clothing. At this point the patio is available for walk-ins.

This restaurant is IDEAL for special occasions! A friend and I have made it a tradition to go here for our birthday dinners (June and November) every year. We’ve been dining here for years and cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff is personable and professional. They always remember your names, special occasions, and dietary preferences. They give excellent descriptions of the menu items and can answer any questions you may have!
We usually spend about $100 each including cocktail, split a cold app and hot app, entree, two deserts, plus tip.
Highly recommend! Ten stars!!

I don’t write reviews often, but I want to say a few positive things about this establishment – mostly in regard to our waiter Dan. The food & atmosphere were of course excellent, but Dan really is the one that made the experience memorable – and in my opinion when you dine at a fine restaurant – which I have been fortunate enough to have plenty of experience in doing – that is what separates a good server from an extraordinary server.
I will remember my experience here not solely because of the excellent food, wine, and ambiance, but mostly because of the extraordinary service and care provided to us by our waiter that night. Thank you Dan!

I might among the pickiest guests ever- fine dining restaurant managers. I have been seeking vol-au-vent, and it was absolutely impressive. Everything was fantastic.
