Drove 1 hour away to try to support the only local fudge place we have around here. And as well try to give them another shot after having some pretty poor quality fudge last time hoping maybe it was just a fluke.
Checked facebook and Google before we left because in the past we have gone here and they were closed with no sign. Facebook had no new post. So headed out. Got there and they were closed. Opened Facebook again and they posted they were closed today. Noticed the post was created the hour they were supposed to be open.
I understand holidays and what not. But if a bussiness changes the holiday hours, it’s just common courtesy to post your updated hours before you’re supose to open.
Anyone not from Mt. Vernon, save yourself the drive and find yourself some fudge at Rural King. We just got some there on the way back and was better than (hopefully only fluke) of fudge we had last time.

Fabulous family oriented sweet shop with small town charm. Friendly staff members, excellent service and DA-BOMB fudge! My kids are crazy about the ice cream. It’s a MUST if you come to Mt. Vernon!

Was in town for a meeting and my wife got fudge and I got a couple of flavors of coffee. It was all excellent! Friendly service, and the flavored coffee is some of the best I’ve had in a long time! What a treat!

Went in to new shop to order gift of fudge for family in Mo. Was almost closing. Rachel the owner was wonderful. Took order to process the next day. Tried a sample of the Tiger Butter. It was heaven. Cute cafe setting with fresh coffees for sale and an assortment of gift items. The gift box got there in 2 days. My family loved it. Clean, friendly, professional and smells wonderful. Its well worth the trip. Love this place.

Bought their fudge for the first time today at Haynie’s Corner Art Fest in Evansville. Walked away with an *amazing* Peach Smoothie. Got home and tasted the Salted Caramel and OMG it’s fantastic. So looking forward to using it for gifts in future!
7/11/23: Visited the store on the courthouse square today. Beautifully appointed sweet shop. Highly recommend!!! Had a delicious milkshake and picked up more salted caramel fudge!

They have the most amazing fudge and Bliss ice cream. My wife and I enjoyed both and took some home with us. The birthday cake and mint chocolate is the best in my book.

They are pretty famous here for the fudges and the turtles, and they deserve to be. The fudge and turtles are amazing, out of the world types!
Chocolate Peanut Butter one stands out for sure.
Also, she was quite responsive on the Facebook page/messenger and let me know the small window(time) when I can go and get them while they were closed.
