That said, over the last few visits we’ve noticed portions becoming a bit smaller and the flavors not quite hitting the same way they used to. We still continued to come because this place holds a lot of meaning for us and has always been reliable.
Unfortunately, today’s visit was the worst experience we’ve ever had here. We came on a Sunday and completely understand that it can be busy, but by the time we arrived the restaurant had noticeably slowed down. Despite that, the service was extremely disorganized. It took a long time to receive our coffee, and our server seemed very forgetful throughout the visit. When she did come to the table, she repeatedly slammed her hand down, stood extremely close while heavy breathing, and at one point set the creamers down only to immediately yell across the restaurant while coughing without covering her mouth.
When our food finally arrived, her hair was hanging dangerously close to my partner’s plate, and there was a hair on the food. She never checked back in to see if we needed anything or if everything was okay. The overall interaction felt rushed, uncomfortable, and unhygienic, which was very surprising given our long history of positive experiences here.
We’re sharing this because we genuinely care about this place and hope this was an off day rather than a sign of declining standards. We’ve always loved coming here, and we truly hope future visits reflect the quality and care that made this spot so special to us in the first place.
2. So far, everything we have tried here has been super delicious. Omlets have been very generous sized and super filling. Their home fries are seasoned well and super tasty, and then there are the HUGE pancakes that come in more flavors than you could imagine. These things are so big, they hang off the sides of the plate. Absolutely light, fluffy, and delicious!
My only issue now, is that I need to find time to come back and try lunch
I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Be prepared to wait a little bit on weekend mornings as this place gets packed. Even then, they do a great job on turning the tables so you’re not waiting forever.
*The love cake (pancake) and eggs Benedict menu is already on the table, we missed that entirely and were wondering where it was in the other menus we received upon sitting
Note: the first booth behind the hostess station was cold because they are recovering from a flooding situation. May want to avoid that for a couple weeks. Even though we were cold, the food was worth it. And I feel sorry that they had to go through that!
I can’t wait to visit again. Jamaican me crazy finger lakes coffee, awesome pancake or “love cake” as they call them, great service, and warm atmosphere.
My dining partner got a Polish breakfast wrap and wished there was more sauerkraut. It is dispersed within the egg and wasn’t too obvious it was there. It’s possible they would have provided a side of sauerkraut if she had asked. The waitress was super nice.
We have waited for 30 min for 2 people seating at 11 am Sunday morning. Staff was super busy, but they were friendly and working very efficiently.
The food took a little extra time to arrive. The egg benedict had too much hollandaise sauce in it, so the muffin was completely drenched in it. Kina lost the original taste of egg and muffin. The cinamon pecan pancake was really good but not as good as I have tasted in the Fairport branch.
Our host was super nice and sweet. Thank you for nice sevice.
