Found this place randomly and we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived an hour before closing so we missed out on the brisket. we ordered the chicken and tri tip plates and man! let me tell you about the taste and portion. The meats were flavorful and juicy too! the portion was very generous! Believe me when I say generous. It’s difficult to find great bbq for the right price, but Art’s bbq threw down. They had great customer service. The way they interacted with their customers you could tell community meant a great deal. I loved seeing that. If ever I drive through again, better believe I’ll stop by !

We were too late for the brisket! In fairness it was an hour before closing. The tri tip and chicken were juicy and seasoned well! The portion was huge,we got 2 meals out of each and I can eat. Sides were delicious. The staff/owners were super friendly, you could tell customer service and community were super important to them. 10/10 will eat again next time I’m passing through

The food was absolutely delicious. The portions are huge too! We had been walking through the redwoods all morning and wanted to go somewhere for lunch. This place popped up and we decided to give it a try. Best decision! 10/10 make your way there. They sell out of certain items quick it seems like (that’s how you know it’s good) so if there is something peeking your interest that they have there you can always call ahead to make sure they still have some left. They let us know when we were looking at the menu what they are sold out of and estimated wait for other items

Super nice spot to grab some delicious to-go food for a sunset at the beach! We ordered the pork, brisket, rice, mac and cheese, and coleslaw. Everything was so tasty. The sauces were amazing too, definitely worth trying. My husband and I shared one combo and it was plenty for both of us. Highly recommend!

I missed this spot twice – while driving through. It’s hard to notice at first. They have a big smoker at the back where they work their magic. I wish we could have a tour of sorts. They gave us almost perfect plates of food today. I got the chicken plate with cole slaw and hummus. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the marinade was so perfect. My wife got the brisket salad with mac n cheese side. The meat was juicy and succulent. The salad was fresh and mac n cheese was okay. The coleslaw was delightful and sweet. The hummus was tangy and mildly spiced. We were so grateful for the memories and will definitely come back.

I’ve had my share of BBQ: Memphis, Texas, St. Louis, Carolina’s and everywhere in-between, but this is hands down some of the best pork and chicken I’ve ever had. I like Memphis and Texas style where the meat itself talks louder than any heavy sauces, and boy does this place deliver!

Plain Jane place with some amazing food that is full of flavor. The service was super friendly, and my meal was prepared in just 5 minutes.

I highly recommend it if you enjoy BBQ flavors, with multiple options ranging from meat combo plates to wraps and even mac and cheese smothered with the meat of your choice.

The tacos are great too! It’s hard to go wrong here.

Stopped by for lunch and ordered two combo plates, everything was delicious. Customer service was excellent, they are very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend. We ordered as takeout but ended up eating right outside. There is also inside sitting.

Unfortunately I really wanted to like this place some of the photos look great, I’m sure I got some poorly made food. The ribs were salty and seasoned very inconsistently no real tase and I’m eating around scary bits to put it lightly. Next if I didn’t have a drink I probably would have choked, every bite I’m reaching for a drink to help get it down. Brisket resembled overcooked crockpot meat the kinda stuff you’d shred into a stew and was about as tuff as meat can get. Chicken thighs was just covered in pepper and that’s about it no depth to the flavor closer to being cooked properly but it was still overcooked. Unfortunately I had a bad experience and I’d like yall to prove me wrong but I gotta rate it what it is 1/10 food.
Thank you arts
Last the staff up front seemed like he was trying to not care? It was just kinda odd maybe a bad day.

I stopped by this place on my vacation through California a few weeks ago. Seeing the 4.8 rating and having had some very good BBQ in my life, I was hoping to be blown away by the quality of the food. Unfortunately, this was not the case. People who are giving this place 5 star reviews and are making comments about how amazing the taste is are either friends / family of the place that are lying, are super biased, or have never had BBQ other than Dickie’s. I did see a lot of high school kids stopping by when I was there, so maybe the latter is the case.

I got the chicken, pulled pork and brisket. The chicken was by far the best meat and was actually above average, followed by a solid pulled pork that was nothing too special, with a below-average brisket. The brisket was dry and chewy and did not melt in my mouth like the best BBQ places I have been to make them, which is disappointing because a properly-prepared brisket has the potential to taste better than all of the other meats.

It is worth noting that this is a fast casual BBQ place; I suspect they pre-make everything and let it sit in warmers; even though I came in fairly early with no rush, I got my food very quickly for a BBQ place. I also wanted to try the mac & cheese side, but was told they were still frozen and thawing (was told it would be around 2PM so I don’t know if this happens every day or not), so clearly they do not make them fresh. I actually think this is probably a good thing for the mac as in my experience it typically tastes better after having sat overnight, but if they are doing this with the mac they are probably doing it with other menu items. The baked beans tasted like generic canned beans, although the flatbread is a solid choice for a side. I don’t know what they put in the house made sauce, but the main ingredient is ranch, and it tastes decent but you are not missing too much if you never try it.

I will say that they give very generous portions on the food, which is why I am giving this place 4 stars instead of a 3 star rating. I bought the 3 meat combo plate, and what you can’t see from the picture I took is that there is rice under everything except the beans. As someone who can order two entrees from a restaurant and eat both and sometimes still get more after, this plate left me completely full. A normal person will not be able to finish this by themselves. I can’t remember what I paid, but I think it was a little over $20, which especially in California is a very good price for essentially 2 meals.
