Sad to say, but Yuki Yama’s owners have closed it down. We will miss you so much.
This is one of my top 3 places to eat. The food is exquisite. I especially like the Chicken Teriyaki, Gyoza, and Miso soup. Presentation is delightful, portions are satisfying, and everything is super fresh. Seating is limited so often we get Carry Out and race home to enjoy it in comfort.

Very interesting to find such a uniquely Japanese place in a small town in U.S.. Went there on a Sunday and found the menu just too limited. We came down from the cold mountain mountain, and would have liked a hot bowl of something to warm us up, but they were featuring sushi, so it wasn’t really what we wanted. Would have lived a hot bowl of beef curry udon instead.

Nice ambiance with amazing food! The sake is imported and so damn good! We tried the Gyoza, Hummus roll, Ahi Roll and Shrimp roll. Each plate of roll has 6 pieces and is enough for 1 person. The staff is very friendly.

Not to be repetitive but this is indeed a hidden gem. Authentic Japanese food cooked from scratch. Had their red miso chicken, teriyaki bowl and seared ahi, all of which was beyond exceptional. Ambiance is great had a chat with Jeff, he helped design and construct the interior. It’s worth the trip.

Incredible food. Made with so much love and the husband and wife team that own it treat you like you are friends that they invited over for dinner. Officially a guaranteed spot for my husband and I whenever we make our way through Maple Falls.

Really excellent meal. Some of the best Japanese food in the state. Extremely cozy and authentic vibe with personal service from the two owners. Limited menu focused on rice bowls. Tried the red miso chicken (super tender and flavorful) and the house specially katsudon. Worth the trip alone. A jewel on the Mount Baker highway.

***update: we will miss you Yuki Yama***
This place is amazing. We lived in Japan for several years and this very much reminds me of the small mountain restaurants you find in rural Japan. Quality over quantity, with a focus on fresh seasonal local ingredients. Limited menu that changes frequently based on the ingredients and what’s good now. They regularly run out because they aren’t mass producing a standard menu.
Secret tip: Get it to go and take it up to artists point or on a short hike for an amazing dinner picnic. The food is still great cold.

Absolute hidden gem. The love put into each dish is very apparent. The ingredients are incredibly fresh and truly done justice. Very kind host co-running a little piece of Japan in our county. The chef(his wife) is amazing at her craft. I will be returning as often as possible.

We loved the authentic Japanese food. My son-in-law lived in Japan for several years and loved it, especially the unusual hummus sushi. I had the chicken which was fantastic. Worth the drive.

Open for takeout only. They spend 50+ hours a week home making all their sauces. This is scratch made hardy Japanese food. The place is clearly a passion project and the food shows that.
Recommend a gyoza appetizer. Chicken teriyaki and the salad were big winners in our group.
