The food here was nice and fresh. The shrimp fried rice was spot on. I have been to so many spots in Oak Lawn and the shrimp fried rice has been terrible, but not here. The crab Rangoon was also delicious. The flavors were authentic. I thought I was going to have to go back to Chicago to get me some good strip mall Chinese food. The customer service was also nice. The buffet was a bit steamy so I couldn’t see some of the dishes. I will go back for the shrimp fried rice all by itself.

I would give it zero stars if I could. First and foremost they are not serving beef, chicken, or pork. This is clearly some other type of meat. Second I ordered the shrimp egg foo young and it was rotten. Clearly rotten. The eggs were grey, the bean sprouts looked old. All of it horrible. Please people do not eat this sloop. Your body deserves better. I literally was gaging and throwing up all evening.
When I called the lady said did it have been sprouts in it. I said yes and she asked about something else. They know they are v serving us sloop. My daughter got the food already prepared and it looked like sloop and she said it made her stomach hurt.
All the one star reviews are accurate. I’m assuming most people eat the chicken with sauces which makes it easier to disguise the rot but if you order something that has to be cooked you will know immediately

Food is good, but unfortunately while I enjoying my food, a long piece of black hair was in my food, I threw up instantly, please have all of your workers wear a hair net, since they are working with food i really think that os necessary.. some gloves would be nice too

I’ve been coming here since I was about 5 years old, and now at 23, New China Express has never let me down. The food has always been consistent, fresh, and made with pride. That kind of reliability builds real trust.
What truly sets this place apart is the people. The customer service is genuine, respectful, and steady — the kind that makes you feel valued every time. This isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a place that’s been part of my life growing up. Businesses like this last because they care and do things the right way. Nothing but respect.

Awesome food! This is my go to Chinese restaurant and they never disappoint. The orange chicken and the sweet and sour chicken is my favorite. My hubby goes for the stringbean chicken and their vegetables.

Great food, for a great price. I’ve been coming here for 5+ years now and they never disappoint! 10/10 recommend, best Chinese food in the area by far.

Barely any beef was added to my beef fried rice. We had to dig deep down into the box to find a few pieces. There was no beef at all added to my beef egg foo young, so what I received was just egg and bean sprout patties. The egg foo young box wasn’t sealed, and somehow all of the gravy in the box leaked into the bag. There was lots of beef in the Beef and broccoli, but my other two beef dishes were meatless.

Sometimes, we have to make a hard decision. Do I stop at a fast-food joint and get a quick bite and be hungry later, or do I stop at a restaurant to get a meal and be full afterward? As I drove for three minutes, I couldn’t help but notice the number of fast-food restaurants that popped up along the way. It’s concerning to see so many of them clustered together, which makes me wonder if their placement is deliberate and aimed at harming people’s health or if it’s just a matter of profit or both
Nevertheless, I think that is not the purpose of your visiting this review, so let me get down to the nitty-gritty of things. Sadly, they charge you five dollars for any payment made to your card. Moreover, the meals were warm, and the customer service was excellent, but the taste was okay. On a scale of four out of five, I would give it four overall and an average of four. I have had many different Chinese foods, and I think Chinese food on the city’s southeastern side is far more distasteful than on the North side. However, this new Chinese Express would be among my top five best Asian restaurants on the southwest side, but it is undoubtedly not in my top three. However, it was a good meal, and you can stop by to verify my hypothesis.

I spent over 50 for 4 plates. The shrimp fried rice tasted like water, absolutely no flavor. I called and the lady said “just try and put some soy sauce on it.” Save your money and go somewhere that appreciates your business!!
