We get an order at Christmas and Easter for the last two years. They make the kolach and Kiefli cookie just like my mom, grandma and great aunts did that came over from Slovakia. Memories of childhood. We highly recommend Butter Maid, for all of their delicious goodies. Their customer service is amazing too. We love how they pack everything so gently and with love and love to see who it was that prepared our order. Wonderful! You will not regret. Try them. You will come back for more. The good and the not-so-good.
Good: very fast shipping , great flavor, very soft dough
Bad: very small amount of filling ( not like it’s promoted on the website). I’ll try to post a comparison if whats been promoted and what I got. That being said, I only ordered 1 roll ,so I have no comparison. Had I ordered several , I could have seen how they look on average. Maybe I just got a bad batch.
Like I said, the taste is great and it’s really soft, so there’s no problem there. It’s just it costed me with shipping and tax $34 !!! a single roll and for that I expected more filling.
Ps. You’ll be able to see clearly which one is their website photo and which is mine.
I did see other people’s photos and many of them has more fillings , so maybe I just got a bad batch.

I got the apricot and the poppyseed they were both delicious. I had my neighbors taste it. They enjoyed it so much. I gave them one of my magnets so they could order from it and I told him to go online and get coupons. Thank you so much for baking those delicious breads. I haven’t tried the cookies yet but I will eventually God bless The hands that baked them

My father who is Ukrainian would take me to a bakery in Miami to get poppy seed rolls all the time. It’s one of my favorite pastries. That bakery unfortunately closed and I’ve been on a search to get my hands on it ever since. One night while searching the web to find somewhere I could buy it, I came across Butter Maid Bakery. I have never ordered baked goods online before but I’m so happy I did. It was just what I remembered with tons of yummy poppyseed goodness inside. I have already ordered 3 poppy kolachi’s and will definitely be ordering more lol. It is so nice I get to enjoy a nostalgic piece of my childhood with my dad.

I “maid” a huge mistake! I ordered some of the kolachi rolls from a flyer we received. Three orders later… These are, by far, the very best nut rolls we’ve ever had.
The filling is generous and is real nuts and fruits. The texture is perfect, soft and gooey with a good amount of nut and fruit pieces that let you know what you are eating. They are sweet enough to be a special treat but not sickeningly so.
I’ve had them frozen (yea, I did that!..), room temp or gently warmed in the microwave. No matter how you want it, it is perfect.
We have purchased several for gifts and no one has been disappointed.
Please support this local, small business they make their products with care and love and it shows!

Order from here last Christmas for my 2 brothers and myself. We were all impressed by the walnut kolachi rolls so I decided to order again. This time I ordered 2 kolachi samplers for my brother’s. The samplers are suppose to include 1/2 apricot, 1/2 walnut and 1/2 pecan rolls. BOTH of these orders were missing the pecan roll. I contacted customer service who instead of addressing my issue did nothing but repeat what was suppose to be in my order. They offered no apology and took NO responsibility for their bakery’s mistake. After spending almost $100.00 for partial orders I will NEVER ORDER FROM them again.

I was recently passing through Youngstown Ohio and stopped by butter Maid Bakery to purchase an original kolache nut roll. I remember these from when I was growing up. My Aunt Cecilia used to make them. I found it to be absolutely delicious and very reminiscent of the one that Aunt Cecilia made. I would not hesitate to order one or give it as a gift!

OK. The first order was GOOD. My second order was STALE. It took 4 days to deliver to Florida. The creams hard (Clothespins & Cream Kolachi) were
old tasting. The nut kolachi, pecan cups, and kiffles were boarding stale.
Definitely not fresh. The best was the nut kolachi roll after I put in the refrigerator one day.
I moved to Florida and was used to Classic Bakery in Boardman ( do not ship) and Judy’s that closed. Anyone ordering from Butter Made Bakery. The original nut Kolachi is your best try. As you can see I tried their products.
Got a response from my email from Maggie. Blame shipping. I guess getting their product in 4 days of shipping stale is ok with them. But I think it was not a shipping problem. A waste of $109.95.
Just got 1 Nut Kolachi roll and nut Kiffles in the mail today. It was nice that they cared. They are the best products I tried. Thank you for your customer service.

ITalian RAINBOW COOKIES over the years. I have always been disappointed. The ITSLIAN RAINBOW COOKIES from BUTTER MAID BAKERY came to me fresh, moist and beautiful. They are so delicious that every bite reminds me of my childhood back in Brooklyn. I keep an extra box of these yummy morsels in my freezer because I am addicted to them and can’t be without them.
