Fresh fish straight from local fishermen and filleted in-house — you can absolutely taste the difference. The place has that classic fish house vibe: nautical décor, lively crowd, and that laid-back Keys energy. It’s first come, first serve (no reservations), so we showed up right at 11am when they opened and were seated immediately — perfect timing!
Service was fast and friendly — our server was even a charter boat captain, which just added to the authentic feel. After ordering, our food hit the table in about 10 minutes.
We ordered fried Yellowtail, Ceviche, and Shrimp with fries and their homemade coleslaw — all fresh, crispy, and full of flavor. And the Key Lime Pie? Absolute showstopper. We were literally “mmm-ing” and “ahh-ing” with every bite. The perfect Florida Keys send-off.
They also have a seafood market if you want to take some fresh catch home. Prices are on the mid-to-upper side, but completely worth it for the quality and experience.

Monday night. Last week of February. Arrived 630ish. About 40 minutes wait. Owner/Host was incredibly gracious. He even told people if they didn’t want to wait, check out the place across the street. Paloma was weak. Expresso martini weak. The Drunken Shrimp TO DIE FOR. Highly recommend.
Snapper Matecumbe was delicious.
Grouper Bleu was kind of like a buffalo wing/blue cheese sauce. I liked it but preferred the Matecumbe.
Cole Slaw was great.
New England clam chowder was good.
Conche chowder great.

A little pricey but you will be served excellent seafood with a great variety of preparations to choose from. Sitting at the bar, my bartender was friendly and very efficient and professional handling a very busy night. Place a can get tight and a little loud, but also has a fun atmosphere. I suggest not going during peak dinner hours because waits can get long. Good luck making a decision with this great menu. I chose the “drunken shrimp” app and the “Matecumby style” grouper and had no regrets. The “ Hemmingway” preparation was also highly recommended. Great drink menu as well.

The staff here were super friendly! We had so much fun! Came on a Saturday night and although they were busy, didn’t have to wait to be seated.
We ordered mussels and shrimp in garlic butter for starters; however, we felt it was missing a bit more salt or seasoning.
The star of the show definitely had to be the yellowtail snapper prepared in their signature Matecumbe and the coconut key lime pie! These two are A MUST if visiting for the first time!

We were passing through Key Largo on the way back from Key West when we saw this gem. We arrived thinking the restaurant opened at 11:00a when in reality it didn’t open until 1130a. A nice gentleman (employee) said “are you looking for lunch” and we said yes. He invited us into the restaurant 30 mins early. Everyone was very nice and the food was amazing. I had the fried grouper sandwich and I loved every bite! If you are in the area give this place a try, so good!

So delicious, so cozy and pleasant service.
Easy to park and they had plenty of parking space, but when we left it was a line outside, so choose wisely the time of visiting.
For us it was the best place in Key Largo. Thank you, God bless you!

For our first visit to Key Largo, we decided to dine at the Fish House and were were not disappointed.
We preferred shrimp, mahi mahi, and scallops. They were so fresh and prepared with delicious recipes.
We waited 40 minutes for a table, but once seated service was quick and our waitress was friendly and so very helpful with menu recommendations.
If in Key Largo, visit the Fish House. You will not be disappointed

We were seated right away and the service was really fast. The customers were very loud at the tables but I can’t fault the restaurant for that. We just went diving and we were exhausted and just wanted to eat and go to sleep. We really loved what we ordered. I had yellow tail blackened and there was a lot of food and it was cooked really well.
My husband ordered maticumba mahi mahi. He loved it! It almost had an Italian twist with the flavors but it was yummy m. We also ordered the ceviche and the smoked fish dip and for dessert we had the coconut key lime pie. That was really really good.
