Amazing restaurant and probably one of my favorite in the world to be honest. Beyond the amazing scenery nearby the Chateau de Versailles, the atmosphere and service are both amazing. You will eat perfect food and you will have a great experience ! I definitely recommend

I would say it’s very disappointing experience that I had with this restaurant, the one stars just for the atmosphere and decorations there. First of all, the meal was just ok compared to other same level restaurants I have tried in paris ,most of the dishes taste so acid and made my tooth hurt for few days. Nothing memorable or spectacular about the meal to be honest. Then the service was really surprisingly awful.
1.the waitress got the orders of the meal wrong ;
2. then when I told her I don’t eat pork is it possible to change for beef she said they don’t have beef , then hopefully another waiter come and made effort then brought me the beef, I do appreciate, but also wondering why the waitress lied
3. We end up poring the drinks by ourselves by the end of the meal, no one come to ask if we need to refill , plus the bottle was really far from our table
4. We saw a tiny mouse having a walk inside the restaurant, when we told one waiter he didn’t cared that much and only told us that Versailles is old there’s rat everywhere,it is not something they can control, but come on, as a nice restaurant like this one isn’t it kind weird ? It makes me wondering maybe there’s a rat in the kitchen or the hotel rooms as well ? I can’t imagine.
5.Before we paid we told the guy at the checkout desk about our experiences , he said his sorry but also come up with so many excuses like the lunch menu and dinner menu are different, the working team is different, at dinner time meals and service are better and bla bla bla, it didn’t make me feel like he really cares about the clients feelings and needs. It doesn’t matter if it’s lunch time or dinner , since it’s all at the same location same restaurant, you can’t offer bad service to customers then use an excuse like it’s not Michelin during the lunch time. You can’t lower down your standards just because lunch time the restaurant is not Michelin level. I’m sure many people go there because it has sth to do with the big chef Alain Ducasse, you guys should be more clear about all these arrangements before people booking your restaurant not after having complained about it and use it like some kind reasonable excuse.
Anyway, after this time I don’t think Ill go back there again. It was my birthday and anniversary celebration with my husband, and we did end up having really “unique” experience there
Friendly reminding for those who still wanna go visit, don’t keep too much expectations. The signature 5 step menu is 140 euros per person, bottle of water is 12 euros , food quality didn’t fit the price .

The most wonderful breakfast I have ever had.

Of course Marie Antoinette was one of the causes of the French Revolution because her breakfasts were simply overwhelmingly delicious.

The Alain Ducasse hot chocolate is to die for and each pastry and salted snack from the tasting menu has a unique taste.

Worth the value and the decor, Airelles Grand Contrôle is a distinctive location to experience the Palais de Versailles.

Thank you to our dedicated server Valentin for his hospitality!

An immersive experience at this unique restaurant that is next to the Palace of Versailles. The set menu was quite a treat and the environment brings you back to the time of King Louis XIV. The Chef Alain Ducasse tries to recreate a festive royal meal in gorgeous dining rooms with dining tables set with Baccarat crystal and Bernardaud porcelain. The waiters and waitresses are all dressed in period costumes to make you feel like you have travelled back in time.

Disappointing experience: disproportionate prices and lack of transparency

I attended a dinner at Le Grand Contrôle on December 26th, expecting a dining experience in line with the restaurant’s reputation. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing due to unethical practices and disproportionate pricing in relation to the quality offered.

Before entering the dining room, we were offered two glasses of champagne along with small appetizers at the reception. No menu or price information was provided at that time, so we assumed it was a courtesy gesture and accepted. Later, when we received the bill, we were charged 150 euros (€75 per glass) for a drink that wasn’t even of premium quality.

The price was not only outrageously high but also unjustified given the quality of the food served during dinner. While the ambiance of the restaurant is appealing, the overall value for money was extremely poor, and the treatment of customers left much to be desired.

We raised our concerns both at the restaurant and later via email, requesting a refund for the champagne, but this was declined without reasonable explanation.

Regrettably, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone who values transparency and fairness in their dining experience. In a place that claims to be exclusive, such practices are simply unacceptable.

The experience didn’t meet our expectations. The food was below average. While the service was friendly, we waited 20 minutes just for bread and butter. Unfortunately, it’s not worth the price.

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel (highly recommended) and regrettably had no other option for dining on Sunday evening. We had enjoyed a caesar salad and terrine from the snacking menu the day before, so we were hopeful for the feast. The breakfasts were also excellent. Given that the restaurant has 1 Michelin star we expected some delicious food and quality wine as part of the feast dinner. Be aware – you will be offered a glass of champagne that is not included (40 euros 100 for the Dom). Similarly any sparkling or still bottled water will also be charged (annoying for such an expensive dinner). There is a deluxe and ordinary wine pairing, but the staff was unable to provide any guidance beyond the location and varietal of the wines. We had two white wines which were good and an awful red that smelled of acetone and green bananas with little flavor. The veal dish had some chewy bits and the sweetbreads were also not as tender as we have had at ordinary restaurants. The chef did do a very good job of adapting the menu for my gluten allergic husband (they did have advance notice).
The feast dinner continues to have periodic announcements about the king which were annoying. The menu is not historical (I think it may have been previously). There are several very good restaurants nearby, so do avoid this one! We also avoided any other Alain Ducasse restaurants in Paris. If you have no alternative – stick with the a la carte menu and order cocktails (the cocktails we had were excellent and a fellow diner raved about the alcohol-free mocktails).
