Service plays a big role in that, especially if you’re lucky enough to get Maria as your waitress. She’s consistently friendly, fast, and attentive without ever hovering. She remembers faces, keeps drinks full, and makes sure everything comes out right. You leave feeling taken care of, not rushed, which is harder to find than it should be.
And then there are the chips, beans, and salsa. The fresh chips arrive warm and crisp, the salsa hits that perfect balance of flavor and heat, and the refried bean dip is on another level. Rich, creamy, and deeply satisfying, it’s honestly one of the best things in the world. It’s the kind of appetizer you keep ordering more of, even when you swear you’re saving room for your meal.
Portions are generous, prices feel fair, and the food delivers comfort every single time. Ranchito has earned its place as an Enumclaw favorite by doing the basics incredibly well and treating people right. If you want great Mexican food, unforgettable chips and beans, and service that makes you feel at home, this place delivers every time.
Also, great pick up option -they package everything up for you, including delicious salsa!
come out 10 minutes later with our food bagged and stapled and ready to take home. Of course, I was pissed when I saw it but we live rurally and they closed right when I
I left. I also would have complained sooner but I’ve been in the hospital for 4 days with a life-threatening bowel obstruction that the surgeon confirmed was the Carne Asada
Asada dried leather they fed me. Looks like the ordeal
ordered irreversible kidney damage as well. It’s obvious to me that the young man came out of the kitchen and did the right thing to tell his manager that either the grill was shut down or they were out of Carne Asada meat to cook ( the neighbors’ original restaurant had also run out of meat that day as well. Instead of the manager doing the right thing and telling me,’ it looks like they decided to either give me
something that had been returned or cook the morning before to chop up for their Carne Asada burritos. Either way, the decision to keep my $50 knowing I was taking
it home and they’d be closed by the time I got back, early killed
killed me and caused GREAT suffering, a permanent kidney injury approved by before and after blood test, and the diag sis by a trained bowel surgeon. I’m waiting till Monday to contact an attorney to see what they offer for an apology, which I have no doubt will be nothing but denial. I know how their entire restaurant only had one couldn’t it, and there was likely finally financial pressure to make a buck, but the amount of suffering it caused for a total of 5 days and nights, and permanent damage in retrospect may have been the best financial, let alone ethical decision to make. Good luck if you plan to go there!
Highly recommend.
Located in the hotel, the restaurant does a good job with decor, helping it feel like a separate location (tather than feeling like you’re eating in a hotel). Everything is bright and colorful, and the live plants in the windows and between sections give it a welcoming feel.
The chips were thick and the salsa good.
I was surprised at the number of vegetarian options, and thankful they were listed in one place. I got the veggie burrito, and it was HUGE and delicious.
Also pictuted: combo plates, spinach burrito, and the free dessert we received (so good).
Why only 4 stars?
While the food was good and there servers nice, the food wasn’t spectacular. One of my dining companions had chile relleno that was cold in the middle. After we finished eating, we had to wait awhile for the check, even though the restaurant was near empty by that point.
Overall, I would likely go back.
