Back to Best Country Donuts! My niece was visiting and said she wanted to check this spot out. I told her that we would need to get up at 5am and make the journey to the other side of town and beat the morning rush hour traffic!
We did this on a Wednesday! It was about a 25 minute drive from where I live . When we arrived I was surprised that there were already patrons in the building! It is clear this place is loved!
The gentleman that was checking out when we entered order 4 donuts and said “ I will see you in a few days!”! I love this for them! It’s nice to be loved by your customers!
I wanted to try a regular glazed donut but also ordered a sour cream and a blueberry to try ! I think my total was about $5.50 or 6 bucks. I did get two glazed – one for a friend. My niece ordered a glazed and an apple fritter.
When we got in the car to make the journey home my niece decided to try her glazed donut!
She bit into it and said oh yessss, this is good !! I did not want to break my fast with sugar so I ended up waiting until I ate a proper breakfast prior to trying the ones I purchased.
I tried the glazed first . I just cut off a small piece! First impression- ok – it’s good – but it’s not like the one I love in New Orleans. I then tried the blueberry donut! Now that one— amazing! I ended up eating the entire donut! The sour cream one did not do anything for me !
If I was in the area wanting a sweet treat I would stop by this donut shop.
Okay Doughnuts are 10 of 10. Light very light!!! Even the cake doughnuts have a fluff to them.
You can just get a dozen of the glazed!!!
I will be back to try the biscuits.
The name says it all
Best Country Doughnuts!!!!
2. Inconsistent prices or display is old or something I’d. If I read 9.50 for six doughnuts then I pay $12+ I’m confused
3. I ordered six doughnuts $8.50, a twist and a croissant it was $13.44 ?!! how in the hell is that math correct ? I knew the first day something wasn’t right…
4. The sandwiches were sitting in bags pre made and nuked if you wanted it to be warm. Yes it was a microwave because it was unevenly heated but at least I was able to eat it before the bread turned to stone. I’m not sure what audience they shoot for but it seems this is for people who will devour a whole half a dozen or take it to the office to share IMMEDIATELY, because I’m certain it’s not for next day coffee cup enjoyment or end of day treat…. The donut glaze is wet.
5.craziest part, I raved about the strawberry donuts to the guy Behind me who the servers decided they would talk with instead of the NEXT Customer …ME… But whatever. I still gave a compliment and left.
6. I have been coming here with my mother for years…I guess that’s who would have gotten a better welcome but she died in 2016… This is not how I remembered things..The strawberry icing once upon a time had Actual in it…. This pool of pink is just grease and sugar, I guess… Well we do know what it is anyway…but it’s supposed to be crisp glaze. Donuts may as well be from Kroger deli. They were just as sticky and wet and disappointing.
The service was not cheerful to me… And I went two days in a row this week. No smile was offered just stoic gimme your money for these wet donuts type of vibe.
See pictures.
Sad to lose another good a thing in the area. First the Mexican Bakery in Wholesale Foods Now this….
