We drove about 10 minutes to Diego’s Mexican Grill in Madison, IN, and it was absolutely worth the short trip! Even on a busy Friday night, we only waited about five minutes for a booth.
The entire experience was a perfect 5/5 for both food and service! I love judging a great Mexican restaurant by its refried beans, and Diego’s passes with flying colors. I ordered the pork chimichanga and chorro beans, and the beans, both the refried and the chorro, were incredibly delicious. I was so impressed I ate all the beans and took the rest of my meal home! The salsa was equally fantastic, tasting wonderfully fresh and bright with a hint of oregano. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal too, making the food side of the experience an easy win.
The service, however, was truly stunning. Despite the restaurant being packed on a Friday night and us only seeing a handful of servers, our server, Tony M., was right on time for everything: taking our order, bringing our drinks, delivering the food, and checking in on us. We thought we’d be waiting forever, but Tony’s speed and friendliness were impeccable. The best part? My husband always asks for special changes because he absolutely refuses to eat beans, and I was sure his modification hadn’t been heard in the rush. But Tony came through and made sure my husband got exactly what he ordered, precisely how he ordered it the very first time. Great service during a hectic rush, accurate, timely, and friendly, you can’t beat it!

My husband took me here tonight for a late birthday dinner and I have never had a problem until tonight, me and my son always get a pizzdilla, so second piece we decided to share and when I went to put it on his plate, im like honey is that a hair, sure enough it was a blondish hair so I went to get another piece I said really there is another hair called the waiter over there and he said that looks like your sons hair which is red, mine is almost black and my husband was wearing a beanie.. no credit on the bill no im sorry it’s your son’s hair well they have lost my business I will find another Mexican restaurant even though this was my favorite, 69.58 for a bill and mine and my son’s was 26 of it so I hope my dog enjoys it cause that is where it is going im not gonna chance eating a hair in my food. Thanks diegos for running my late birthday dinner I greatly appreciate it.

If you haven’t ate at this place in Madison IN. I suggest you do. It is really good. I went Sunday for the first time. The food was really good and the service was fast. The waiters was so respectful and nice. I recommend this place. I will definitely be back.

I love this restaurant! We got acknowledged by a member of Management and the waiter recommended an awesome plate. The fajitas were delicious as well as the street corn for appetizer. The margaritas were delicious, blended well with my meal. Food was hot and delicious, the service meet my expectations!

The food and service were fantastic! We were in the area on a camping trip and wanted a break from the heat. Such a great idea. Our server was so nice and took great care of us. It was nice to have the break in the a/c with amazing food. She even sent us on our way with plenty of ice water. Highly recommend!
