I gave the atmosphere a high rating just because you eat outside. Let’s face it! There’s nothing more beautiful than Kentucky in the summer! Sooooo much green . The food was excellent; just the right amount of salt and juicy.

The Burger House is a cute little, old style burger joint on the side of the road. Have your GPS ready because it’s a fast road and a quick miss if you don’t slow down early enough. Although the building looks a bit rough, don’t judge too soon.
You can sit inside or outside they have seating in both areas. To order, you walk up to the counter and place your order, and they will call you when it’s ready. They got pretty busy at dinner time on Friday, but most of it was people getting take away, so there was still enough seating.
The food is simple, old style diner type foods (i.e., hambergers, chicken strips, ham and cheese, fries, ice cream). It’s not the best place for those with lots of food limits, and that’s ok. The food was hot and well made.
The staff was nice and quick moving. You don’t have to wait long for your food even in the busy hours. Everything was clean and tidy as well.
Overall, it’s a fun treat out, and we enjoyed the stop.

We passed the Burger House Restaurant on the way to a lake that we fish at and decided we would try it on our way back through. I’m almost certain I tried it as a child. I love old burger joints and it did not disappoint. My boys are huge fans of the Frostyette in Sand Gap and The Parkette (recently closed) in Lexington so they were hoping for a similar taste. They both loved it as well. My youngest loves the Patty Melt at The Parkette and was hoping to get one here. When we didn’t see one on the menu we asked if they could make his burger with toast instead of a bun since we seen that they had grilled cheese on the menu and they did. We ordered burgers, fries, onion pedals, Philly cheese steak, and coleslaw, we enjoyed everything. I prefer my coleslaw to be sweeter but that is just a personal preference, my husband thought it was great the way it was. The goop sauce is amazing. We went back up and ordered a large side of that. The workers were all very pleasant and working very hard. We will definitely eat here again.

I don’t get the chance to come here a lot but I’ve been coming here since my mom brought me here as a child. And my mother who recently passed came here when she was younger. I have always loved this place and in forty plus years I have never gotten a bad meal. It has always been excellent and all the staff have always been friendly and helpful. After spending the day with my dad for Father’s Day I came here to remember mom and get her favorite sandwich. And it was still every bit as good as I remember. If you just like good locally made food come here. I love it and you won’t be disappointed.

Burgers were very thin and greasy. If you have Burger house in your sign you should at least have a good burger not a thin frozen patty that wasn’t even hot. Fries were hot. Not good for $30 for 2 people

Local burger shop with a large menu …burger, chicken, phillies, pizza. Milkshake with a large selection of flavors. Not a lot of indoor seating but there are a couple of picnic tables outside on the covered porch and a large parking lot.

Terrible experience. Not only myself, but 2 other tables had their order wrong. 2 of those tables came in AFTER me with 4+ people who all got replacements before I got mine wrong Initially. The most positive thing I can say is the fries were hot and the lemonade was full.

We’re new to the area and like supporting local businesses. We tried it for dinner tonight hoping to find a new favorite.
The good: service was friendly. I’m assuming it was the owner that asked us if it was our first time and gave us a sample of goop.
Food came out at a decent speed.
The bad: the indoor smoking! Seriously!? Get with the times! Luckily only one person was smoking and they stopped soon after we get our food or we would’ve been taking it to go. I travel all over the country for work and haven’t seen a restaurant allow smoking since the 80’s!
The food: descriptions of what the food is would be very helpful. I ordered an Italian hoagie. Having lived in NY and eaten hoagies often I expected a roll of sorts with a variety of italian sandwich meats. What I got was some sort of meatball sandwich conglomerate. I think it was a long hamburger patty smothered in tomato sauce, grilled onions, and melted cheese. Don’t get me wrong, it was good (even if the buns were opposite), but knowing what to expect would’ve been nice. Had my son ordered that he would’ve had to return it because he’s allergic to tomato sauce, and who would’ve guessed a hoagie would have tomato sauce on it!
The fries were fine. The Goop tasted like sweet ranch. My husband said the burger was nothing to write home about, just a typical fast food burger.

Absolutely horrible experience. Came in and ordered for a table. Waited over 30 minutes for the food, which was wrong. Saw other tables that came in after us, get theirs. Had to ask twice about our food, only to be told their working on it. Everyone in there was on the younger side, probably teens. Finally, after receiving the food which again was messed up, I took it back and gave it back to them, then left. Won’t be going g back anytime soon.
