Mel’s is a great neighborhood dive bar (absolutely not a bad thing). Small bar with a bigger seating area in a second room. There was live music there when we arrived. The beer was cold and the service was good. It was what I expected for what it is. There was a good crowd there that was a mix of young and older. It is close to a friend’s house that lives in Berwick, so this could definitely become a place for a quick get together when we pass through.

Mel’s just opened less than a month ago. Newly remodeled and floor plan changed, the bar is roomy and tastefully classy.
Drink prices are in line with other public bars in town. The bar tender perfectly poured my Guiness and made beautiful cocktails.
The additional large room has multiple walk-through doorways and this game room area has several tables and a pool table. The jukebox plays touch tunes.
We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be returning.
