Southwest Suburbs Breakfast Club
Best For: Fans of exceptional food (including original gems you can’t get anywhere else) and the best coffee around
Food Quality: The menu isn’t kooky bananas with pages of outlandish creations, but look closely and you’ll find dishes nobody else is doing – Door County cherry pancakes/waffles/french toast, or a sweet potato skillet with avocado & brussels sprouts. Sweet Toast has figured it out: do something unique, do it well, and serve great coffee with it.
The Door County cherry pancakes were absolutely delicious – very well made, slightly more cakey than pan, great consistency. The sweet / tart Door County cherries atop cream cheese frosting is outstanding. Their particular take on a sweet potato skillet is unique (only one we’ve seen in our travels) and a delightful option for vegetarians or folks with dietary considerations. The chicken tenders had perfect crispy coating. Word to the wise: the coffee is the best we’ve had yet ( and we know what we’re talking about: we’re visiting a different breakfast restaurant each week for a year). It’s perfect “goldilocks” breakfast coffee – very balanced, just right. It tastes like what the coffee on our logo looks like LOL. Also they leave the pot on the table so you can go nuts. ☕️
Service & Atmosphere: Our server Tammy was attentive without hovering, gave us time to peruse the menu. The space is what you’d expect for a strip mall breakfast place – nothing fancy but spacious, clean, ample booths. Noise level stayed under control even as it got busier.
Value: On the pricier side, but we’re OK paying for quality and originality.
Will We Return? Try and stop us!!

Solid café to get the classics. The service is always friendly and the vibe is laid back and hometown-y. The specials rotate and are worth checking out. You can pay the check on your phone after scanning a QR code on the receipt for extra convenience. Get the honey biscuit!

Their French toast and crepes are equally impressive, with the berry explosion French toast and Door County cherry standing out as our favorites. Good food and service was amazing! A little pricey but I have so much leftover, it’ll probably make up two more meals. I’m taking off one star because the online menu and print menu didn’t match up for a dish not coming with a side so my sister was charged for a side she wouldn’t have wanted. The prices didn’t match either. Our waitress, Anel (?) was phenomenal! Food was delicious! Would come back in the future. Photos show BYO omelette, pancakes, Chile quiles, and breakfast tacos.

Today i sent my brother to get me a freshly squeezed orange juice and they gave him a juice from a container. My brother and i work in the food industry and very well know what freshly squeezed oj tastes like and looks like after a few minutes it separates, and you can see some thing residue of pulp, this juice they game my brother clearly isn’t freshly squeezed yet the guy 2 times looks at my brother and says yes its fresh… undermining us like this is very disrespectful i really wanted to step out the car and make a big deal but my brothe advised me to just never come back. Its a shame because my kids and i were starting to like this place since its right around the corner for us.

Great family friendly dining! Friendly staff – everyone was attentive and helpful. We went on a Sunday am and the food was great. Kids Mickey Mouse Pancake was huge! My 8 yo could not finish it. The House Waffle was amazing and my 10 year old devoured it. The Chunky Monkey Pancakes were a gigantic 3 pancake stack! Very large portions and great coffee and drinks were available.

Met up with a good friend for breakfast and absolutely loved it here! Our waitress Tammy was very accommodating and was also very well knowledged on the menu items. We personally got to meet the kitchen manager Jesus. He made sure our food was top notch. Definitely made with love. Sweet Toast is our new spot to go!

I ordered a to-go breakfast. I know it’s the first of the year but my goodness were they busy. The food was amazing! The only problem was they forgot my over easy egg on my Skillet. But honestly it’s one of the best skillets I’ve ever had. Really sad I didn’t have the egg though.

Pleasantly surprised with this breakfast spot! My wife & I stopped in on a Saturday an hr before they were to close, for our 1st time to order brunch to-go after browsing their menu online for vegan & gluten-free options. We had a few questions about their offerings while ordering tho, & Alex kindly greeted us & offered to help. He didn’t hesitate to go back to the kitchen to confirm ingredients for us which was so helpful & reassuring, & really sets the bar for top notch customer service. Many places are so uninformed on what goes into the food they offer & can’t be bothered to help or find out when asked, so it really was so refreshing to be assisted by someone who cared.
⚠️ We were glad we asked tho, bc we found out that while their GF bread option is listed on their menu under the ‘Vegan’ section, it DOES contain eggs (as some GF breads do), making it NOT vegan. He was also able to confirm for us that their new plant-based sausage (listed under ‘Sides’) IS gluten-free & vegan. We were kindly shown the ingredient lists of the products to see with our own eyes (wish all places did this!)
Considering this, we asked if we could instead have corn tortillas with our Vegan Breakfast Tofu Bowls since we couldn’t do the GF bread, & Alex was happy to do that for us at no extra charge! He was also kind enough to offer us both a free iced tea while we waited on our to-go order, which was ready in less than 10 mins. We have not been treated so kindly in a restaurant in a long time & were so appreciative of the positive experience!
As for the food, it was amazing! & I say this as someone who is vegan/gluten-free, who cooks at home, who is always looking for & knows the struggle of finding GOOD, quality breakfast options that are worth the price & made for my dietary needs. For $17 the bowl was a generous, filling portion, the tofu was tastey & cooked just right, & everything else tasted hearty & homemade. I hoped there would be a bit more vegan cheese then there was, but otherwise everything was great (btw we added in the avocado at home, it isnt included) My wife & I were both delighted to say the least, & we can’t wait to visit again & actually dine in!
We would absolutely recommend those who are vegan & GF come try this spot! Really nice atmosphere & so wonderful to see our fellow latinos setting the standard on hospitality in the restaurant industry Thank you & mucho amor to Sweet Toast Cafe!
