I recently dined at 1836 and had a fantastic experience worth sharing! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and warm. Our server, Holly, was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu.
The food truly stood out; everything was served warm and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the beet salad, which was a delightful mix of flavors and textures. It’s become a new favorite of mine! i also indulged in the steak fettuccine Alfredo, and it was heavenly—rich, creamy, and perfectly cooked.
Overall, 1836 exceeded our expectations with its excellent service and scrumptious dishes. I can’t wait to return and try more of the menu! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great meal!

We have been huge fans of 1836 since they opened.
Today we went in for a light afternoon bite. I ordered the mussels. They were absolutely fantastic.
The bread was seasoned and crisped perfectly. The mussels were cooked well, and the broth was delicious.
I actually brought the extra broth home and tossed it in with some cooked pasta and it made a delicious dinner.

We sat in the back, where there was a heater blowing directly on us. We were given the wrong menu, and had to go back and get the correct one ourselves. Service was pleasant but quite slow. The mac and cheese was incredibly salty. The chili was delicious although the peppers overpowered everything else. The “smash burgers” were not really smash burgers and not very good; the flavors didn’t mesh well, the cheese wasn’t melted, and the potato bun was way too large and dense for the patties. It was like a potato bun sandwich. The banana pudding, my wife loves. This place seems like it should be much better than it is.

The food was delicious and the beer was ice cold , they also have some of the most comfortable bar stools I’ve ever sat on which is a big plus in comfort staff was great and they gave off an awesome vibe I’ll definitely be back to check out the outside deck when it gets warmer

The food was amazing! 10/10 recommended poutine. Ive never had poutine but my bf has and we both loved it. He really likes the pork schnitzel but we shared the poutine and that was a meal! Our waitress was not as attentive as others and we waited a bit before she would come back as we watched others buzz around and stay on top of tables. The bloody marys were ok 5/10 something was missing for me but I finished it

We ventured from Frederick to Brunswick, MD and into Lovettsville, VA last weekend. To kick off the meal we shared a bowl of MD clam chowder. I read some of the reviews and ordered a burger with shoestring fries. My spouse got the fish with fries and we shared to experience the food. It was outstanding- the burger was fresh and moist and the fish had a good crispy coating that was delicious. The place was very quiet for lunchtime but we had a good experience. To wrap up the meal I had the homemade banana pudding with a chessman cookie. Outstanding again! We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. They are disability friendly with their access ramp. The only downside is no outdoor seating. Happy eating.
