I went to this place for the first time this year and I love the look that they have and how they have enough seating. I had a cheeseburger which was great and I tried my husband’s fries and my niece’s chicken tenders which were delicious also!!! My husband, sister and I wanted dessert so we ordered three fried dough sundaes once we were done with our meals. When my sister placed the order the girl that was going to prepare them had an attitude and was complaining that we ordered three. I was really upset but patiently waited over 20 minutes for them which was not a problem at all. Once we received them and opened them; they all looked like the picture posted which was upsetting because I think presentation goes a long way. I believe the girl should have waited until the dough cooled down a little bit since she was already not happy then it showed in her presentation. The dough was delicious but I can’t really comment about the ice cream yet. No matter what I will try them again when they open back up next year.

Very laid back, kind staff, plenty of seating. Always busy and we wanted to check out based on ratings. Fried clams were so delicately fried and fried food usually bothers me and I had no issues. Super yummy. My Shirley temple was also excellently mixed and not overly sweet from too much grenadine. I will definitely return.

Quality lobster meat used in the lobster roll; not cheap but you do get what you pay for.
Many things in the menu look delicious. Everything from the burgers, sandwiches, and huge ice cream selection will definitely have me coming back to try.

Convenient casual spot to grab a burger, lobster roll, or ice cream. It’s an old fashioned drive in style eatery that plays 50s music and has tables outside. Food is always good and reasonably priced.

Good was great!! Seafood to burgers and ice cream great place to sit and eat. Music is old school feel like ur back in time. Can enjoy the food and family conversations. Had blt ice cream and sat with friends will be coming back and will recommend to other friends and family.

Cooked to order great food. Prices are a bit high, but food is good. Not a lot of seating, but picnic tables are large and sturdy. Plenty of fake cows about for photo ops.

It had been years since I visited Frates Drive-In and was reminded how great this place is!
Yummy food, tasty treats, friendly service, clean, family-friendly dining areas inside and out (weather-dependent), and affordably priced.
I ordered my food to go, my pup’s first pup cup, and a frappe. While waiting for my food was offered the pup cup and frappe. Admittedly, I hadn’t thought through how to offer the said cup to my overzealous pup. This was his first pickup truck ride and we both were apprehensive as I stepped out to order and slightly stressed when I returned with my hands full with his pup cup. I held it out for him to sniff test and to my surprise, he seemed to be enjoying it. Once I heard my name on the loudspeaker to notify me my order was ready, I was able to fit the pup cup in the center console cup holder, and served as a distraction to step back away to grab my order. I’ll admit I was scared when I got back to the truck the cup would’ve been overturned with sticky wet paws and prints all over the place but I lucked out. The food smelled so delicious and teased for both of us on the ride home. The pup cup was finished before reaching home. I hope it helped my pup to create a positive association with truck rides —it did for me!

Terrible got fried claws. Very expensive no fries the worst I have ever had. I threw have of them away. The grease was running down my hands. I was so sick from all the grease it was bad. I have had a lot of clams the worst

The food was not bad, but it was a bit overpriced. I’ve had better lobster rolls elsewhere. Burgers were undercooked & not well-seasoned They have A TON of stuff on their menu, so that was nice to see. Lots of fun photo props too, if you’re into that.

The atmosphere is the only reason to really come to this ice cream stop. Their flavors are ok at best. Nothing to really come back for. Example, their fudge brownie soft serve ice cream has no brownie in the ice cream. After I ordered this premium flavor it is just chocolate ice cream. When I asked if they forgot the brownie they said it doesn’t have brownie…Same review for the other flavors and food. Cool place, fun to bring a family, disappointing food.
