Every fishing village needs a good watering hole, and the Hurricane Grille has continuously been just that in Marathon, and longer than any other bar in town. Dating back to the 1930’s, the Hurricane became a locals’ favorite for good food, cold drinks, and a good time. As the town of Marathon grew through the 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s, so too has the Hurricane. Expansions have included the Small Bar, the family dining area, and our comfortable Back Porch – but the heart and soul of the Hurricane has always been the original portion now known as the Big Bar. With a long history of Live Entertainment, each move that you make on the dance floor follows in the footsteps of locals and visitors from decades past.

The food is OUTSTANDING! Wonderful conch fritters, and the BEST cracked conch I’ve ever had! Ask for the key lime butter to dip it in, it’s amazing. The Long Weekend cocktail was perfect, too. Dinner was so good that we went back for breakfast. The mahi in the Grunts and Grits was perfectly fried, delightfully light breading without losing texture. The Sunshine fresh pressed juice was a delightful surprise. The servers seemed a little overwhelmed but they were so kind and clearly working so hard! The inside of the restaurant is so pretty – love the murals and the tables and the lights!! This is totally different from the Hurricane I visited 25 years ago, and so much better!

Great place! Good happy hour and great staff! Noel was the bartender and should be the ambassador of the place. Great attitude and welcoming. The ladies that were with us thought he was “Good on the eyes!” Noel was very engaged with his customers and we never had to wait for a drink. We will come here every time we are in Marathon!!

Husband and I came here twice during out trip and if we had discovered this place the first couple days we were here, we would have gone a lot more. The first day Lynn waited on us- the drinks and food were amazing! Lynn is an absolute treasure! The second time we went Noel was working and I’ll tell you what- between those two I have never experienced so much energy from staff in a place we’ve frequented. They genuinely wanted to be there and were having fun doing it! We will DEFINITELY be coming back.

I got the happy burger.. don’t, McDonald cheese burger is better and the same size. I haven’t gotten one in years, which says a lot.On a positive the mahi happy hour basket was good. What ever you do done get the crap dip!! $18 and we didn’t eat. Told the female bartender we didn’t like it and did not eat it. She didn’t take it off. That was are 3rd try here. I think I am good. And Spanish is the first language.

I had an incredible time at Latin Night at Hurricane Lounge & Grill. The music was great the energy was high and the atmosphere was fun from start to finish. The DJ kept everyone dancing!!
The service was also excellent, the staff handled the busy night smoothly and were always friendly throughout which is nice. It’s definitely one of the best Latin Nights in the area.
