This was the best chicken fried steak breakfast I’ve had, eggs were cooked perfectly and the hashbrowns were exactly how I ordered them, crispy. My favorite part was the steak, cooked crispy, tender and hot.the cherry on top was the gravy and melted cheese.

I have had chicken fried steak that claimed to be the “world’s best before. This was so delicious and amazing it defies logic. Not only hands down the best I have ever had but they serve it with a delicious taco, enchilada, guacamole, rice beans and chips and salsa and all was off the charts good. It is a culinary delight and has been there forever. If you are driving thru make sure you try it!

Great food and great service!! Wait is about 15-20 mins but its okay because food comes out nice and hot. The quality and freshness of the food is also great. Plus, the plates are well served and worth the price! My favorite items on the menu are the chicken cordon bleu and the chicken fried steak.

From the sopita de fidello with the delicious paraíso plate everything was delicious haven’t been here since I was in 7th grade coming from Rio Grande city and I regret not coming again any sooner very great atmosphere and service the inside is so rustic and just brings vibes of something that defines TEX MEX will be back for sure !

Friendly service when you walk in. Waitress was attentive and knowledgeable on menu items.
I ordered the chicken cordon bleu that came with two side, fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes. Food came out hot and fresh as you can see when I cut into the chicken, the mozzarella oozed out

If you’re ever in zapata, texas, you have to try the food here. It is absolutely amazing. The chicken fried steak is a ten out of ten, there was a little mexican twist that comes with a taco enchilada.Refried beans rice and guacamole. Hands down the best chicken fried steak.I have ever had

Chicken fried steak was great, but Mexican food not even mediocre. Biggest problem was the pricing, first time i have seen a menu in my life say “market price” for chicken fried steak. Menu also with no prices states scan QR code on table for prices. I did scan after ordering out of curiosity with a menu with no prices. After scanning QR code my plate was $16, but when i went to pay was definitely surprised, My plate rang up for $19.99 and my ice tea was $4.95 + $1.65 for to go cup that was offered to me. Asked cashier about pricing and she said the QR code has been there since covid and the owner said that the price. Its a shame for a famous restaurant to resort to the old bait and switch. If you do go confirm prices before ordering or you will be surprised.

I had always wanted to stop and try this place for so many years but I never had time driving from Laredo to the valley for work. I was very thankful to finally have time to stop in and try it. Mmmmmmm. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for a real meal. Service was very friendly with Jesse. Be nice everyone. After covid and so many businesses not making it though these tough times. It was so good! Service might appear to be slow, but I assure you it was absolutely worth the wait for the fresh made, most delicious chicken fried steak I have had in all of my life. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. NOT GREASY WHATSOEVER! Delicious. Thank you for being here and serving very good food. Apple pie was super delicious, served just a bit too cold. I will make time to stop every time from now on. Very reasonable prices.

Was in the Laredo area and thought I would head down the road to Zapata, Texas and try the famous El Paraiso Restaurant. They are well known for their Chicken Fried Steaks. So, I got one of course.
Chicken Fried Steak Plate 9/10 – I ordered the large, and it was huge! I got the regular cream gravy and the cheesy gravy, both on the side. The cheesy gravy was weird but good. The CFS was large, thick and very flavorful. The mashed potatoes were pretty good too. The corn was average, nothing special. But obviously the star of the show was the CFS, and it didn’t disappoint!
Chips and Salsa 5/10 – run of the mill.
Fideo 6/10 – decent complimentary cup of Fideo and if was ok.
Service 8/10 – service was good. Friendly staff.
Atmosphere 5/10 – nothing fancy, just a plain old diner.
Overall 7/10 – definitely worth a visit if in the area.
