The whole idea of the Fat Spoon Cafe’ concept is to do things a little differently than many others in the café business. Our food and atmosphere is unique, but familiar to Southern Louisiana. We pride ourselves on using homemade ingredients like corned beef and roast pork which form the basis of our signature spins on the Reuben and Cuban sandwiches as well as a Cochon de Lait po-boy.

Enjoyed breakfast on a Saturday morning, not too busy and the service was wonderful. I couldn’t decide so I had the pecan waffle, grits, bacon and eggs. My partner had the shrimp omelet smothered in crawfish ettouffe. We both enjoyed our meals and agreed the grits were absolutely wonderful!

Fat Spoon has some great food with south Louisiana style. The restaurant is located inside the old Pizza Hut on Hwy 190. It’s rennovated very nicely on the inside tho. It’s a cozy place, very clean as well. Decorated cafe style. Don’t let the outside looks scare you off. This place is well worth a try if you haven’t been. The food came out quick. Service was extra friendly and helpful. Prices were fair for portion sizes. Everyone in our group liked what we ordered and will be going back for another visit. Family friendly cafe style restaurant serving breakfast all day long. Recommend.

Greek omelette is best. We have been coming to this location from last three years whenever we are in Covington. Food quality is consistent, although the service used to be quick and friendly. It is slow now, we waited almost 35-40 minutes for our breakfast to come out this time. Hopefully it will get better by our next visit, as we have seen other breakfast places popping out in town.

Everything was GREAT!!! The service, the food , the atmosphere all EXCELLENT. We dined on shrimp and grits, shrimp and spinach omelet with baby browns, and a small grilled shrimp salad…everything was so tasty and delicious.

12:30 pm 8/6/23. Service was slow. Had to ask 3 times to get water. My Cuban sandwich was close to perfect. Sweet potato fries were good, but barely warm. The atmosphere was pleasant and not overly noisy. Wish they would have told me about the up charge for sweet potato fries vs. Irish potato fries. They were attentive on drink refills. I would go again.

Found this great little Cafe to have our Father’s Day brunch at and it was great. The service was great and the food was delicious. They have these beignet sticks that are amazing! Definitely need to give them a try if you are in Covington LA.
