Very good tacos, the place is clean, good location, good flavor and variety. If you’re coming to La Crosse, come eat at Taqueria la Monarca. Highly recommended.

The place is very neat and clean. The staff is very quick at cleaning up after customers. My boyfriend and I got take out, but we were observing while we were waiting for our food. The food was great! Very authentic. My boyfriend got a burrito and it was huge! Very delicious too! I got the al pastor street taco and that was very satisfying. I also got their menudo soup. I wish it would’ve been spicier, but it was still very good. It’s a bit more on the gamey side, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re not into gamey tasting food. I like gamey food so it was very tasty for me. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We also love their little sauce bar. It had a variety of sauces and very convenient for us to choose our own sauce based on our own preferences. Overall, this is my new go-to place for authentic Latino food.

The carnitas burrito bowl was delicious! The pork had such a better flavor than other chain competitors! It was also a great amount of food for the money. The service was great and the food was done quickly. Taqueria Monarca will be our new grab and go burrito bowl place!

Very quiet place. I loved how relaxing it was in there. And the workers were polite as well. I ordered 3 tacos one de asada (steak), carnita (pork), and cabeza (head). They were by far the most flavorful tacos I’ve ever had. Very juicy! I’m definitely coming back!

For all the food I got- chips and cheese dip, a chicken quesadilla, beans and rice and a small margarita it was over $32. First time I have ever been to a Mexican restaurant that charges for chips and salsa or rice and beans with an entree. The quesadilla shell came out hard and the chicken was cold… not a lot of meat. Not worth $32. You seat yourself and get your own food, clean up yourself etc. Neither party in my group was impressed with the food quality or service. The music was very loud and hard to hold a conversation

My daughter and I ordered guac & two sopes – one carne asada and one Rajas. Guac and chips were tasty, but both sopes were terrible. They were undercooked and dough was raw inside. Aside from lettuce, they had very little toppings and little to no beans. The carne asada was bland and tough. The rajas was mostly onion which I like but I ordered it for the poblanos. There were had 2 little pieces of poblanos and a couple of mushrooms. I would not go back.

Best tacos in town! They have so many different and unique taco options, and you have the ability to select a more authentic onion and cilantro topping or a simple cheese and lettuce topping. We haven’t ventured into the more unique meats like beef tongue, but their asada and carnitas tacos are amazing! Plus they do not skimp on the portions. You really feel like you are getting your money’s worth! We also recommend the margaritas!
