This is a wonderful place that deserves more stars than they allow. Sage promotes a family friendly real world atmosphere that is the definition of Aloha. Miss it at your peril if visiting the big island of Hawaii, Captain Cook.

Beautiful gem in Captain Cook, a peaceful place to enjoy kava and chat with friendly people. Bring your own container if you want to buy a large amount.

What an amazing spot! I own a kava bar in Idaho, have been to kava bars all over the US, and this is one of the best spots to enjoy kava with great people IN THE WORLD. The Aloha is alive and well at Around The Kava Bowl, and the kava is of a very high quality. Definitely stop by if you are on the Big Island.

Perfect Kava bar. When it’s hot down in Kona you can head up the hill and cool off in Captain Cook with some Kava and Friends. I recommend going up whether it’s hot or not. Or after hiking down to the Captain Cook Monument head just a 1/2 block up the road for some Kava and cool drinks. After hiking back up from the monument you’ll be dying of thirst. That is a crazy hot hike. Most people, if any reading this will have ever heard of Kava. Google it, look it up. Open yourself up to the island adventure and try a traditional Hawaiian beverage like Kava. As it has so many others, it just might change your life.♥️

Super chill place. It definitely feels like a community hang out. It’s my first time trying Kava so I can’t rate the product. This seems like a great place to rehydrate and hang out after hiking to Captain Cook monument.

Having been to many kava bars around the world we were so stoked to find this one was right around the corner from the place we were staying at.

I couldn’t have imagined it would become our little second home for a few days. The thoughtfulness and community that Sage puts into his place is radiating while the kava is flowing. It’s strong, traditionally made and so good!

Definitely will be back if we’re on the island again!
