The food was good! Took a group of high schoolers there, was very pleased with how quickly we got out. My only complaint was that the “spicy” in my curry fried rice was just on top – not mixed in. My first bite was so spicy that the rest of it wasn’t as enjoyable as I would have liked.

Fantastic dinner!
We ordered for 8 people and the food was out in less than 30 mins – amazing.

We got the green curry- was not good. It tasted like nothing and was yellow. The pepper steak was drowning it sauce- it was odd. The cheese wontons were good though. We have been here many times and sadly don’t plan on coming back after this.

Both the cheapest and most delicious and satisfying Pad Thai I have ever had by far.
The only caviat is cash only, so if you weren’t prepared you’ll need to deal with ATM fees. But that being said running a cash business in today’s world is completely understandable.

With our travels around the world we’ve discovered it’s often the little places off the beaten path that have the best food. So when we drove by the Rice Paddy, I said “We are eating there!” It did not disappoint. Most may not be adventurous enough to go through it’s doors. Some not patient enough for the time that it takes to make your food fresh in a little kitchen. But for those who are, you are rewarded with an experience. The place is tiny with only rail sitting, so closed due to Rona. But I still got to meet the dynamic duo that run this place while I waited for last minute preparation of my take out. Great characters making amazing food. This place has got to be a college kid’s dream. Affordable prices, huge portions and amazing flavor. We actually got three meals out of our order because it was so big. As soon as my daughter saw the wontons she was like, “Oh yeah, these are going to be good. Each one is unique in size and shape. Some love went into those.” She loved the coconut soup. We also got the green curry that we ate the next day. The Almond Spring rolls is what surprised me the most. These things were huge!!! And only $1.75

Good place to have Thai food, staff is friendly and welcoming! Make sure you call in early and pre order as the wait times are usually long depending on time/day (25 to 40 minutes). Also, they’re Cash only place. Open on weekdays only! We ordered Orang Chicken but the gravy/sauce was really sweet.

I’ve been eating at the Rice Paddy for 20 years up until I moved away. Tonight was my first time eating there since Aoy sold it. I read about the disappointments others felt and was apprehensive about giving it a try. I love Aoy, she catered my wedding forever ago. I was afraid my nostalgia would get in the way or that the food wouldn’t be as good as it used to be.
My fears were entirely unfounded. I absolutely loved my dinner. I got Pork Pad See Eew, a shrimp egg roll and a bowl of hot and sour soup.
The Pad See Eew isn’t like any other Pad See Eew out there and it never has been. I ordered it perfectly in the middle of the spiciness levels and it was perfect. I loved every bite.
The egg roll was huge, fat, packed, greasy, hand rolled and just awesome. It was one of the best egg rolls I’ve ever had.
The Hot and Sour Soup. It was one of the best tasting things I’ve ever eaten. Aoy’s Hot and Sour Soup was my favorite food for years. Now this is. It’s so awesomely good. It’s really spicy, tangy, packed full of cabbage and tofu. It was as good as it gets.
Nang’s isn’t Aoy’s. It’s Nang’s and it’s really, really good. I wish I still lived here. I’d eat this every week.

I made a one day visit to Marquette yesterday via Indian Trails Bus and Rice Paddy was on my list of places to visit. The long walk was well worth it because the moment I entered Rice Paddy I knew that I was in one of the best Thai restaurants in America. Exceptional service from owners Dean and Nang. Dean was so friendly and kind, he made me feel so welcome on my first visit. He recommended the curry buttercup squash dish which was incredibly amazing. So unique. Also got a half order of the popular pad Thai. It’s so cozy and lovely inside Rice Paddy but there is no dining indoors. However, there is a small wooden table out front and that’s where I enjoyed part of my meal. I love Rice Paddy. Outstanding service, generous portions of delicious food, and so authentic. They even include yummy cheese filled wontons with your entree. Nang is an outstanding chef, she is so talented. Rice Paddy in my opinion is one of the best Thai restaurants. There’s a lot of devoted local customers who know Rice Paddy is an awesome place to eat and I saw them coming in and out to pick up their orders while waiting for my order During these times of high inflation it’s wonderful to enjoy super tasty food at an affordable price. I thank Dean and Nang for running a superior Thai carry-out restaurant.
