I recently ate at Serafini’s in Frankfort, KY, on 12/27 (dinner) and 1/7 (dinner). Both times were excellent and deserve a 5 star google review for food, service, and atmosphere.

The dinner on 12/27 was before a Grand Theatre show and I went with two girlfriends. We sat in a comfy, cozy booth and our service was not too fast, not too slow. That’s important when you are going to an event and have to be out at a certain time to make a show. Serafini’s staff is very in-tune with what is going on event-wise in the area and caters to those individuals to make sure they have a well-paced meal. All of us enjoyed our drinks, apps, and main courses. We did not eat dessert. It was a special occasion for us and we were so pleased.

The dinner on 1/7 was with 3 individuals who live out-of-town (I live in Frankfort) and who specifically asked me if I could make reservations for one of their birthdays because they love Serafini’s so much. I called, made the reservation, said it was a birthday – easy and no hassle. Our table was ready upon arrival and we had a great booth with a view of the Old Capitol building at night. The atmosphere was lively in the restaurant on a Wednesday night and it made for a fun birthday celebration atmosphere for our party of 4. We had drinks, apps, main meal, and a few of us had dessert. Serafini’s treated the “birthday boy” (59!!!) to a complimentary tiramisu that wasn’t solicited or requested. All of us were impressed with the service and pace of the meal. The quality of the food was amazing and we had main meals as diverse as a margherita pizza, filet & sides, the Serafini pasta special, and lobster ravioli. Our apps were for some a a wedge salad and oysters. One individual ordered a turtle cake kind of dessert (apologies, I can’t quite remember) and coffee. Everyone raved about the food and we just had a really nice time catching up and celebrating a birthday.

Serafini’s doesn’t ALWAYS have to be a special occasion place – it just happened to be for me in these past two instances so I wanted to write a review.

I do recommend making a reservation and don’t hesitate to tell them that it’s for a special occasion. They truly enjoy catering to that and making it a nice night out.

We hosted a birthday dinner here with a group of 16, and it was absolutely perfect. The food was incredible, the service was attentive and friendly, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. The Governor’s Room was the highlight — an elegant, beautifully appointed private space that made the evening feel truly special. Highly recommend this restaurant for any celebration or group event!

Ordered two flatbread pizzas a beer and a bourbon drink. For a fine establishment like this never ever use maraschino cherries with your Bourbon drink. And although we had to send one of the flatbread pizzas back because it was not cooked all the way, the replacement was absolute fire. Come check this place out

Serafini is a true gem in downtown Frankfort! We had a party of 13 and they went above and beyond providing us with an amazing experience. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, the staff is fantastic, and the food is incredible. It was a culinary delight.
Add in their excellent bourbon and cocktail selection, and you have the perfect night out.
Our server, Tosha was outstanding. We throughly enjoyed visiting with Carlos the managing partner. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Frankfort!

This is a linen tablecloth restaurant but we were welcomed in wearing shorts and casual attire. Staff made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious: Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parmigiano, Beef Tips.
There was live entertainment as well. I wish I would have gotten his name. He had a great voice, played music we remembered from our younger years, and did not overpower our dinner but enhanced the atmosphere with a perfect volume and sound.
Great dining experience.

The manager that sat us was rude. He made remarks about not having much staff and it would take a while to get any service. The tone made it seem like he didn’t want us there. The server was great though.

Vodka sauce is super bland, but the Alfredo and salmon croquets were good. They changed the flavor of their signature pasta dish. Wasn’t as good as it used to be.

We used to come for special occasions but won’t be going back.

First time I had a bland oysters, the spaghetti and meatballs were perfectly cooked but lacking of seasoning, same with the bruschetta and chicken parmesan it’s bland. The kitchen also pretty slow although I understand because they were busy but the taste of food they just need to improve on. I think the pasta bolognese is the good one.

My wife and I ate here for the first time last night. Really liked the downtown Frankfort feel on a Wednesday night with the old capital, people eating outdoors and music. Unfortunately, our experience at Serafini was not as good. We ordered the Italian Nachos for an appetizer, which were just okay. My wife ordered the Serafini pasta (chicken and marinara), which was okay but on the dry side. I got the chef special, which was butterfly shrimp, risotto, and green beans, which were okay. The chef special should at least include a small salad for the $40 price. The service was slow, even though there were only about 4 or 5 other tables occupied. We would have preferred to sit at the available window tables up front, but were seated in a booth towards the back. We didn’t ask to sit up front because a waitress told the young man seating us, not to seat us on the other side of the restaurant. Finally, it took so long to get our dessert, after we paid, that I ended up standing next to our table holding our to go containers waiting on it. The entire atmosphere, however, was very nice and the best part of our experience. The meals, appetizer, a soft drink, beer and dessert were over $100.
