It was good, no real complaints. Fresh flour tortillas, good beans. It’s just really solid Mexican/tex-mex food. Solid 4 you won’t regret it, and you will leave satisfied.

We were here in SA for a week and happened to drop in. The food was delicious, the service was amazing and the place was clean. Portions were very generous. We enjoyed breakfast here three days in a row. We look forward to stopping here again when we come this way.

Food was amazing my ONLY complaint was I wish they made fresh migas. I’ve noticed a lot of places now use the chips instead of making them fresh which I get is a quick way to do it. Other than that this lace is absolutely worth every 5 stars

During my recent visit to a restaurant in 2023 . I observed that the ambiance was pleasant with a nicely decorated interior and clean facilities. The employee all ladies were working diligently and greeted me warmly. I took the opportunity to greet them amicably. After being seated and awaiting service,I asked for a menu for my favored Calado De pollo a dish I particularly enjoy.

Bought breakfast tacos, the tortillas had an awful smell to them. Tried again about a week later for dinner, enchiladas were horrible but that is because I cannot stand velveeta or cheep yellow american cheese in them and some restaurants like this one does just that. Tortillas still had that God awful smell. They tasted great, looked great, but having to smell it every time I took a bite was the most annoying thing ever. Have not been back since.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!Very dirty restaurant. No signs of sanitary procedures. No hair nets anywhere. Dirty dishes on carts used to serve food. Cooks licking their fingers while cooking. Same rag used to wipe chairs, used to clean eating tables. Yuk, Yuk, yuk. When complained to woman at cash register, who says she’s owner, totally turned rude and crusty. Nope, nope, not today.

First time here at the Melendez Mexican Restaurant and the food was actually pretty good. I had the shredded chicken burrito and my wife had the same, but with bell peppers and onions. Chips and salsa were pretty good. Chips weren’t greasy at all as you find at some Mexican restaurants. The homemade tortillas were great! Very tasty. Customer service could’ve been better. We went through 3 waitresses for some odd reason without any explanation. And our finale waitress needs a little refresher course. Never did she ask what we wanted to drink, but did a good job at coming by every so often to check in on us. Bathroon was a little on the dirty side and the garbage was overflowing so much so that trash was on the floor. Takeaway… good food, ok service, and the cleanliness should be better.

I love this place. Feels great being here and there lunch special is very reasonable and priced fairly. Because of this, we go here more often.

I really wanted to like this place. The first red flag was they were not busy on a Saturday at 1pm.

The pros: great service, the barbacoa was decent (no cilantro or onions though), the tortillas are good, and right off of Walzem.

The cons: the potatoes are not crispy, the chips are over cooked, and the guacamole has zero flavor. Fix that guacamole fam, I’m begging you. If you have high blood pressure eat here, because they aren’t using any salt at all.

I’m extremely surprised this place has such glowing reviews.
