Campton Restaurant is a family owned business since 1950. Originally an old service station until the 1980s when Junior and wife Cunoy Parker started serving short orders. It officially opened full time as a restaurant on Halloween 1986. We’ve been serving the finest southern cuisine ever since. Some of our staples include hand breaded whole catfish, large ground chuck hamburger steaks, the best Cheeseburgers in the county, and don’t forget our BBQ. We also offer some healthier selections such as salmon or chicken salads. We look forward to seeing you soon!

This was our first visit since the update. The changes definitely make the restaurant feel more warm and comfortable. Table spacing has been updated to allow for an easier flow through the restaurant. The updated color pallet gives the space depth and the wall murals remind you of the restaurants roots and that it is a family establishment. On this visit I had my personal favorite country fried steak with both white and brown gravy, green beans, and field peas. Both gravies are house made and offer very different flavor profiles. The white gravy is not as thick as the old, but still has the flavor expected just a bit lighter and more buttery. The brown gravy is a punch of flavor that can overpower the steak where the white compliments it. I would recommend the brown gravy be used as a condiment on the smash burger, but I encourage you to try it yourself and for them to not get rid of it.
I still encourage everyone to visit this establishment! The staff cares and appreciates that you are there. There are not many “meat and three’s” left and this one deserves your business!
Original review:
First time visiting this restaurant. If you love cute, down home, southern feeling restaurants with good old meat and two sides then this is your place. We had the country fried steak onion rings, cornbread, fried chicken, baked potato, and two side salads that didn’t disappoint. Staff is friendly and grateful you came and the food is fantastic. We will definitely be back for more.
It wasn’t too busy when we arrived. When we were leaving, it was busier.
Very friendly & nice service staff.
Food good & desserts pretty awesome too!!!
Prices fair for what you are served. Sweet tea was cold & sweet to perfection!.
We will be back very soon, and we all loved what we ordered.
