Sometimes.. plans change for a reason! Hubbs and I had planned to go to Full Moon Oyster Bar for dinner but they were closed. Stumbled upon this place and dang was it good!!! We went in little before 5PM yesterday (Sunday) and they were somewhat slow (it was cold and rainy). Worked to our benefit tho! No waiting. Service was Johnny on the spot and the ladies behind the counter were so nice! We were greeted upon entering and told to have a good day when we left! And the bbq…. Go on and pat yourself on the back! It was delicious! I had brisket and my husband had burnt ends and pulled pork. All divine! Baked beans and Mac n cheese were great. Especially the baked beans! Hubbs thought the slaw was a little bland so I helped him eat his haha! It was refreshing to me! Being from AL, I’m a little picky with my bbq and don’t really care for the vinegary bbq NC typically offers. Not here! Perfectly smoked meats and bbq sauces on the side from mild to hot to sweet to vinegary. They do also have beer available (only canned that we saw but they offered us cups, even though it wasn’t necessary and they were ice cold). Put moderate noise, simply bc they have music playing. Great music though and not too loud. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back!

If you’re craving a form od Southern-style barbecue with a touch of bluesy charm, Red Hot & Blue BBQ hits the right notes. The restaurant blends hearty, slow-cooked meats with a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like a cool places to be.
The star of the menu is undoubtedly the barbecue. The pulled pork is tender and smoky, with just the right amount of bark to give each bite some texture. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone, well-seasoned, and come slathered in sauce—or “dry” if you want to taste the rub in its purest form. Brisket fans won’t be disappointed either; it’s juicy, flavorful, and pairs beautifully with the tangy house BBQ sauces.

Taste was good but for $42 I would expect there to be some meat with the fat they gave me. Literally no meat just fat. The Mac n cheese was good. The sweet tea was decent. The wings are easily the worst I’ve had since I’ve been to NC.

I came here for dinner after checking with multiple joints if they add sugar to their rubs. After confirming with the staff, I ordered a lb of brisket and 1/4 rack of ribs. I also wanted the sausage but couldn’t since they fried the smoked sausage in oil coz they were busy.
The brisket was awesome, thickly cut but good. The ribs were also delicious. Since I didn’t have any sauce, I could really taste the meat flavor n the rub.
As someone on a Carnivore Diet, this spot was perfect without compromising it.

I do a lot of driving around for work and always need a good place for lunch. Being able rely on a fresh meal when I stop off between my deliveries is important to me. I had never even considered just the burnt ends brisket to be an option and I only discovered this spot recently but I really enjoyed it with the smokin hot sauce. Of course I had try and always appreciate a good quality mac and cheese! Everything on the menu looks so appetizing, after such a great impression I will stop by again to make sure I don’t miss out on anything! Say hi to and thanks again for the great vibes Zoraa!

Came here looking for tender ribs. Received regular service, but nothing above or beyond. Meals were pricey half rack ribs with two sides was $25 and the sausage with two sides was around $16. Drink was separate. Ribs were good with no sauce, well seasoned. Mac and cheese taste like they used American cheese slices, not well seasoned. Baked beans had a mixture of bean types with pieces of pulled pork meat but lacked flavor. The sausage was stiff, a bit dry, parts tasted like they were not thoroughly cooked. Potatoes salad lacked flavor and looked more like mashed potatoes. The hush puppies were overcooked and crunchy. Overall, enjoyed the ribs. Won’t return though – too pricey barely any flavor in those sides ;(

Good value for your money on the chicken and pulled pork. The half chicken isn’t a big chicken but it’s still well worth the money. Pulled pork is good, I typically mix one hot and one sweet sauce into it and love it. Most large plates can be pulled into two lunches on a normal day.

The hush puppies can be gotten in place of sides, and I highly recommend it (freshly fried batter is so good). I like them with the hot sauce.

The higher end stuff (brisket, ribs) varies day to day like a Bojangles, but I’m never unhappy with it. If it’s on special, try it.

I don’t like smoked chicken wings and I’m not alone, don’t expect buffalo wings.

An Empty-Turned-Epic BBQ Experience!”

I walked into Red Hot & Blue, and the first thing I noticed was the distinct lack of barbecue aroma. I mean, shouldn’t a BBQ joint smell like a carnivore’s paradise? It was so empty, I half-expected a tumbleweed to roll by. But hey, maybe it was just an off-day?

Anywho, the manager must’ve sensed my hesitation and pulled me back in with a tantalizing deal: “If you don’t like it, we’ll give you a full refund.” Challenge accepted!

Now, let’s talk about the food. I opted for the pick-three tray, loaded up with brisket, ribs, and chicken, accompanied by mac & cheese, baked beans, and a mysterious cornbread-like creation. My friend went for smoked chicken and brisket, with the same sides. And the verdict? Drumroll, please…

Holy smokes (literally)! This place delivered the best barbecue I’ve had in North Carolina, hands down!

In total, we dropped about $50 on our greedy little adventure, but it was worth every penny. When you visit, tell them JJ the Food Critic sent you. Enjoy the feast, folks! Oh, and just so you know how good this food is, my friend even tried to smuggle some out in her shirt for later. That’s right, the BBQ was so finger-lickin’ good, we didn’t want to waste a single morsel.

Red Hot & Blue is a longtime favorite! This visit was great! The young ladies serving us were so friendly and helpful with our choices and options. The potato salad can’t be beaten! We’re taking enough ribs and potato salad for dinner tomorrow! Love RH&B!!

So I got take out from here. I got to say, this is actually one of the better bbq spots. I know it’s a chain, but don’t let that deter you from getting food from here. I got the Tennessee Triple from here. I added the Texas Brisket (which was mouth watering), I got the Carolina Pulled Pork (very tender, delicious) and then the Syracuse Hickory sausages (which were good, probably my least favorite but still good) and I got a side of the mojo mild sauce. As per sides I got the potato salad and hush puppies. The potato salad, was very mediocre, wasn’t a huge fan of the flavor and the potato wedges in it were too large. The hush puppies though are some of the best I’ve ever had since I’ve moved down here. Lastly I got their banana pudding, which I’ll always get when available. It was alright. I think it may have been the cream that was a little overwhelming. But again this has been one of the better bbq spots that I’ve been to.
