Well I spent 30 dollars on food that should have cost me 20. Got the chimi plate and what I asked for was a burrito. Went to my car and opened up the food and I didn’t ask for it to be covered in cheese. They didn’t even offer chips. Said dine in only. Took the wrong food back and they said no sorry. We can don’t returns they won’t let us. This is place is stupid and I’m pissed off I spent 30 for nothing. They didn’t even give me my receipt. Chimi plate is good but whatever the cheese burrito they give me isn’t since I didn’t ask for it and it cost me way more. Just pissed off by the customer service. Not coming back again

Acapulco Restaurant has become one of our reliable go-to spots in Gonzales, and it all started somewhat unexpectedly. When we were first exploring the area, we were disappointed by a neighboring establishment, Mr. Taco, but that letdown led us to discover Acapulco—and we’re glad it did.

We initially tried their breakfast tacos and were impressed. The menu offers a solid selection, the food is well-prepared, and the service has consistently been friendly and efficient. Everything feels fresh and thoughtfully made.

Since then, Acapulco has become a routine stop for us. Their street tacos, in particular, are excellent and have become our primary go-to order. Flavorful, satisfying, and consistent, they’re exactly what you hope for in a local Mexican spot.

Overall, Acapulco Restaurant delivers good food, quality service, and consistency—making it a place we’re always happy to return to when we’re in Gonzales.

Save your money.. ordered a Mexican burger in the drive thru waited almost 25 minutes before going inside and demanding a refund. Cashier or guy at the window was so green my food was just sitting there for another 5-10 minutes while I got my refund. Owner still had the audacity to try and push the food off on me like it wasn’t sitting there getting cold for 35+ minutes. 35 minutes and no food I could’ve went to McDonald’s> Acapulco

Sunday afternoon and parking lot was nearly at capacity. They had live entertainment, which was different than other times we have been here. It added to the experience.
Portions are large and food options are plentiful. My favorite is their shrimp diabolo. Spicy but tasty. My husband is checking out their platters. Hasn’t been disappointed yet.

Excellent tasting food. Flour tortillas well made and cook to perfection. Menu has a large selection of food and plates, from steaks to tacos to sea food and appetizers.

Let’s start with the service, we sat down
I went to use restroom to wash hands.
Never was given my own menu. When the waitress got back to table she abruptly put down our drinks. She also put down chips and salsa that tasted store bought.
My visit to the bathroom was a complete turn off because the faucet was filthy and full of mold.
The waitress we had was very unprofessional n she was pretty rude to us. While we ordered I decided to take it to go because we wanted to get home before the rain started.
The waitress took our order with her snippy attitude n was gone.
We finished our drinks n waitress was no where to b found….we waited…waited. Till finally I decided to take our business elsewhere. Went to the cashier to pay for our drinks n cancel order n she asked why?
I told her the waitress never checked on us and was pretty bad experience overall. She got just as nasty as the waitress and told us to never come back. Asked for all there names n she told us to get out!
The gentleman in front of me complained about his food was very Blain n his friend took 2 bites of his food b said it tasted like chef boyaredee.
I would rate this location -0
Nothing good to say n would never ever recommend this to my worst enemy!
Eat here at your own risk!

Driving back to Houston from San Antonio, I stopped at this restaurant only because Goggle showed it first on the list, checked reviews, and were good. Parking sucks. They have a drive-through on the side, but it’s too close to the parking space, so be careful how you park your car to prevent blocking that line. I sat down, atmosphere zero, decorations none, looks run down but maybe because it is a small town restaurant, bathrooms are ok, could use a little bit of more cleaning, specially because the through traffic people. Service needs improvement, took 30 minutes to order water and chips with salsa. Then another 30 to order main course. Was busy, but com’on. I ordered the carne asada with nopales, rice, and charro beans. Meat was dry, super paper thin, but flavor was super, rice was overcooked, and flavorless. On the other hand, the charro beans were excellent. Tortillas, corn, handmade looked good, didn’t eat them. Mmmmm, recommend not recommending? If you have spare time, go for it. The table next to me ordered seafood molcajete, served in a big molcajete, looked and smelled delish. So, I will say yes.

It’s a regular stop for us now, going from Austin to Port Aransas. Great food, reasonable prices, and friendly service. We have tried many things on the menu already, and all were great so far!

The fajitas were really delicious and tasty. The service was great and the waitress was attentive. The far bathroom has coach roaches. Please be aware. Other than that, everything was great
