Very nice out of the way spot right on the river. A small bar area combined with both indoor and outdoor seating for casual dining. We showed up right when they opened on Sunday, and by the time we left the parking lot was full so it gets busy!
The lake perch basket was good. Excellent tartar sauce and coleslaw. The smoked brisket mac and cheese was super flavorful. The bbq sauce was just the right amount of sweet to pair perfectly with the homemade cheese sauce. And the portion sizes were huge. We also got the onion rings which tasted homemade as well.
Good vibes, great food, nice people. Definitely off the beaten bath. When you are done, you can go a mile or two north to Dunbar Park and walk off a few calories while enjoying more views of the river.

We visited The Cozy Corners Restaurant for the Super Heros Saturday event. It was an amazing gathering of local public service workers that got kids into an ambulance, fire truck, trooper cruiser, and sheriff vehicle. The staff and volunteers were amazing and the food and service matched.

We had a wonderful evening on their deck overlooking the St Mary River. The service and food was the best to date in the Upper Peninsula. Our party of 5 ordered the steak salad, the chicken wrap, asparagus, rodeo burger, and hand cut and breaded chicken tenders. I highly recommend trying Cozy Corner.

Excellent food, great views, fast and friendly staff! The portions are generous and reasonably priced. I appreciate that you can get a vegetarian version of any of their delicious burgers. I had a veggie Hangover Burger and it was possibly one of the best burgers I’ve had. They actually know how to properly cook a veggie burger. Dessert was delicious as well.

What a wonderful surprise to find this great little spot on our color tour drive of the UP. Apparently run by new owners who are doing great things with it. The building is set up with a restaurant area and a bar side plus a wonderful front deck right on the Saint Mary River. Great Lake freighters glide by and the views across the river are beautiful. Our waitress was so sweet and personable, spending time with us bragging about all the wonderful things the new owners are doing to the place. And a surprise bonus for me, they even had Michigan lottery so I could play Keno! The bar food is above average and the drinks were great. It’s definitely off the beaten path but they plan on staying open year round. Try it out sometime.

We stopped in for an after dinner drink and to sit front and center on the water. It was so lovely, a perfect evening last Wednesday night! We both ordered their specialty cocktail, the Red Sky Delight, which is a rum drink with coconut cream and two different juices. Fabulous A freighter came by as a surprise and was offered a shot for $1 as a “special” because of the freighter passing. We both had a whiskey Our server was personable, friendly and attentive. A wonderful time after working all day on my daughter’s house!

I ate here this week for the first time after others urged me to check them out. It was a delicious meal and friendly service. Plenty of drink choices and fish anyway you want it nearly. I ate blackened whitefish with fries and some ice cold Upper Hand Brewery IPA’s. You can catch freighters passing by while visiting during the shipping season.
