The new top spot in nyc for modern artisan style pizza. I’ve traveled over 10 times already in the last month to have it since discovering them. Their dough is perfect and every time I come back it reaffirms to me how incredible it is. Compared to other top spots in the city like lindustry and jonnys on orchard st, this manages to stand out amongst all of them. Consistency has been 100% every time and you can feel the love in every bite and into the dough. Honestly surreal to still find a spot that can blow me away like this, if I lived in queens this would be an everyday visit for me. If you’re lucky enough to live near please enjoy it for me. I will for sure be making a trip whenever possible. The price point for this quality of pizza is also hard to comprehend. Amazing overall, my favorite pizza I’ve ever had to be honest at the moment. The great part is, every time a new slice stands out. The onions under the sauce on the raging bull slice is genius. You can feel the passion into this pizza.

Philomena’s in Queens is an absolute MUST visit for any pizza enthusiast, or anyone looking for an amazing slice/pie period! You can tell everything here has been perfected, they have definitely worked hard to master their craft. Dave was so welcoming, hospital and friendly, a very kind man who is clearly passionate about pizza. The crust was the perfect mix of crispy and chewy, the sauce was the perfect complement to the cheese in terms of flavor and balance. Can’t wait to come back!

Almost did not want to make this review so I can gatekeep this spot for myself but this spot deserves the shine. The stracciatella slice they have is my new favorite slice in NYC and their pizza is top three pizza in NYC for sure. Their dough is fermented for 72 hours and you can really see that in the quality of their slices. I love their raging bull slice and for a pizza place to be this cheap with the quality of pizza they are producing is unseen in NYC. The prices are incredible and that’s what makes this spot even better since I am tired of paying $10 for a slice at some places. This spot deserves all the love and respect. Wouldn’t be surprised if it blows up out of nowhere and gets the recognition it deserves but I love how much of a hidden gem it is. Super authentic place and I will be back again and again!

Dave’s round pies are great, but his square pies are positively magical: I always say that the only things that keep it from floating away are the sauce and cheese. Absolute perfection, easily one of NYC’s, and thereby the world’s, best pizzas.

One of my favorites in Queens. Incredible slices. So much care goes into making pizza here. Chef and owner Dave is always there to greet you with a smile! A must try pizza!

Wow this place is special. Best dough I have EVER had, crispy yet airy and the perfect amount of chew. Every slice was absolutely delicious. Must try!!

I came in and ordered a large pie, only to be told they couldn’t accept a $100 bill. Fine—I went to get change and asked them to start my order. The wait ended up being long, which made sense once I saw the pie—it was completely burnt.

My group tried to eat it but couldn’t, so we asked for it to be remade. Unfortunately, the replacement pie was also burnt.

Please get it together.

Taste of the pizza was great with a nice char, really great cheese / sauce ratio and nice sourdough taste to the crust.

But it’s letdown by the small slice size (this was the smallest slice of pizza I’ve ever had), the floppiness of the crust and the cash minimum

Have been meaning to try Philomena’s after reading multiple Queens pizza reviews. I usually drive by on weeknights and don’t have the energy to deal with parking. Since I am on vacation I stopped by on 12.31.25 for lunch. Such a delicious slice! I had a pepperoni slice and a pepperoni square- both were excellent but the dough on the slice along with the cup pepperoni is perfection. Hubby had 2 of the spicy squares and was impressed with both. Service was friendly, and our food was fresh and hot. We usually go to Amores each week, but now we are adding Philomena’s into the mix!

The best thing is the dough! Four slices, two squares and two reg slices for almost $20 is steep. I can name plenty of others that are leagues better. Is this gourmet pizza? Certainly doesn’t feel (taste) like it.
