Very good cheesesteaks located right on Pearl Harbor Navy base submarine pier. They offer multiple options for additions to a cheesesteak to fit your flavor profile. The staff were extremely friendly and provided a Valentine’s cupcake as a part of each order to celebrate the holiday. You can dine in or carry out but there are multiple TVs available to watch sports while waiting or dining.

Pretty decent place on base. It is an entrance that is right behind the old Beeman liberty center. If you see the sign that says Phillies from the street near the NEX, go to the other side of the building and you will find the entrance. Parking is spotty, so prepare for a small walk. Not much waiting when you come in early (around the time that they open up), so it is easy to get a quick bite in before heading back to work. Inside is clean has plenty of seating space to sit down and enjoy some good food.

For the food, I got a cheesesteak with fried onions and cheese whiz with some cheesey curly fries and some mozzarella sticks. All pretty solid in my opinion. A bit on the pricey side, but it will fill you up really well, and I say this as someone who can eat enough for two people. The cheesesteak alone can be a filler for some, so come prepared with an appetite. Lots of options to customize it as well as other styles of cheesesteak. Appetizer options are plentiful as well as drinks. Fountain drinks aren’t available at the time of writing this, but they have plenty of canned and bottled drink options to choose from.

Overall, it is a hidden gem of a place on base that I don’t hear talked about too often. Sure, the hours are only for lunch time, but it is definitely worth it if you have the time to go. One of the best cheesesteaks that I have had on the island so far and I will highly recommend this if you are ever bringing someone on base and want to get lunch, or are already on base with some time to kill and an empty stomach.

Edit: Coming back here to add some more to this review. After being gone for a couple months from this place, it has still stayed pretty much the same as I have always loved it and have a different limited item to try that looked pretty good. Hopefully I get time to try out the new item they have right now. The mozzarella sticks has seem to change a bit, but in a decent way. They weren’t as melty on the inside as I usually like, but it was still really good and was a bit more savory than how I remember them the last time I had them. The sauce for them was good. I just add some pepper to it from the pepper packets that are available to use. But onto the cheesesteak (the latest image is the one without the cheese whiz on it), it has remained as good as I have always had it. Good provolone melt, nicely spiced, loaded with beef and fried onions, and very juicy. Good with or without some extra pepper on it, so you can’t go wrong with whatever choice you decide to run with. Overall, if you like consistency, I would highly recommend this place as it has always remained consistent in the best way and any trip I take there is one that is well worth it.

Edit 2 01062026: as I eat here one final time before leaving the island, it is still one of the best Philly cheesesteaks I have had. Always getting it right with my order and has been a solid pick for food whenever I get the chance to go. Such a good place I hope sticks around long enough and hopefully I can have it again when I get the chance to do so. It is a gem on this island that many don’t get the chance to see, so it is worth the go when you get the chance to do so.

The JBPHH community is incredibly lucky to have Phillies. I was in town for 1 week and ate here on 3 separate occasions. It’s incredibly hard to find a hoagie like the Old Italian outside of the Philly/NJ area. The cheesesteak, with Cooper Sharp, was as authentic as they come. Thank you for bringing a little slice of home to the Pacific. Go Birds!

The literal best Cheesesteak outside of Philly (and even compared to most in Philly). I was a pizza shop worker in Philly at several shops as a teen until I joined the Army. I constantly deal with subpar food masquerading as a “Cheesesteak”; usually just a mistake. Dude is making legit cheesesteaks. I have no self control so I usually do 2 at a time. I’m hesitant to tell everyone because I want this hidden gem for myself .

Pro tip: upgrade to Cooper Sharp American and do extra cheese. And as always, onions are a must!

Phillies Philly cheesesteak with the old school Cheez Whiz option definitely brought back memories on the boardwalk shores of Seaside Heights and Wild Wood in Jersey that would serve Philly cheesesteaks. Amazing flavors and the size would definitely curb most appetites.

Any customer that complains of prices just stick to your “used car lot” mentality cause if you want to experience the better things in life such as fresh quality ingredients (shipped from Philly) then you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that you get what you pay for. Hands down the best Philly cheesesteak I’ve had in years!!!

The service and atmosphere was enjoyable and great. The Philly memorabilia on the walls really adds to the awesome experience.

Watch out Jersey Mikes and Charley’s Cheesesteaks cause Phillies Cheesesteak and Hoagies is in town!!! Definitely recommend!

Best Cheesesteak on island. Same owner as Jagger’s, and he does most of the cooking. Reasonable prices, but it requires base access. I typically buy 2 sandwiches and some sides.

Not bad for being outside of Philly. The amoroso bread is what makes it. They even got the same ketchup packets they have in Philly. Wished they had some heavy mayo though. Closest Cheesesteak we can get that similar to what we had back at home. Prices are decent for Hawaii. Will definitely return.

This is the spot to head to if ur looking for a real PCS on Oahu. I’ve tried their traditional beef PCS, the Chicken PCS & their hot pastrami sand. Ive been back many times since finding this hidden gem. I always get my sandwiches with grilled onions, mushrooms & peppers, & their real Philly American cheese and cheese whiz on the side. They have great curly fries & onion rings too. I’m going to get the Italian sub on my next visit & mozzarella sticks. They have free refills on their fountain sodas & they have fresh home made cookies for dessert.
Open Monday -Friday for lunch. It’s all about the bread for a real hoagie & this is the only spot I’ve found that does it right. Thank you Phillies for keeping it authentic & real!!

**Need base access to come here since its on Pearl Harbor**

Took a late lunch due to work and Harbor Grill was crowded so decided to give Phillies a try. The signage by the exchange is misleading, its actually on the other side of the building. Parking is also tough but i waa parked on the other side so walked around to find the place.

Like another person said, the prices are on the higher side, around $20 for a Cheesesteak sandwich, fries and a canned beverage. There is additional charge if you want bell peppers or mushrooms that i passed on. Service was quick and friendly, maybe because i was the only customer there.

Food wasnt bad, though the sandwich wrapper and bottom bun was a bit greasy from the meat. Id give them another try with their other sandwiches since they were on par with Subway prices. Good to have found another option for food in the area

For what it’s worth and where you’re at, including Hawaii prices, it cures being hungry. Ordered the Philly (half) with added mushrooms and a hot pepper relish. A little over priced for base food. Probably why there was only two civilians eating there when I arrived and no military folks during lunch. On the plus side, food came out quick and the cashier/cook/server was extra nice.
