We came in because it was open and walkable from our hotel. We couldn’t find anything that looked like a hostess’ stand and ended up wandering up to the bar. I think that there were 4 tables with people at them, and we were told to take our pick from the rest of the place. My lovely wife unerringly picked the one table that needed to be wiped. {eye roll} The menu reads fantastic. Everything sounded great. Ended up with Sausage Platters. She had the Knockwurst, I had the Polska Kielbasa and the Bratwurst. Our food was fresh and hot, which was nice. My brat looked good and didn’t taste bad. Both her knockwurst and my kielbasa looked like something straight out of Sysco, and unfortunately tasted like it as well. It also struck us as odd that a place specializing in European food would have nothing but Mexican beer, though the waitress did explain that they were between beer contracts and expected a different selection next week. Anyway, not bad, but certainly not what it should have been, let alone what it could have been.

During peak season, it’s best to avoid this place. There’s a complete lack of organization among the staff, from customer service to food service. It might be better during the off-season, but during peak season they simply don’t have enough staff or a proper organizational system.

I ordered the biksemad… I added roasted Danish rye bread…. COMFORT FOOD!!! sirloin, red cabbage, roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy, grilled onions, fried egg…. Next time I will order this dinner with an extra fried egg…. Service was excellent… Atmosphere encourages conversation… They have dining at the counter/bar.. a huge inside dining area and a large outdoor garden to dine… You have plenty of choices… This restaurant also has the capacity to hold large gatherings…

Disappointing – Waste of Money
When my family and I walked in there were a few patrons. No one greeted us. We stood there looking around. I saw a woman eating at the back where a young man was working with the utensils. First, I would like to mention that myself and my son have worked in the food industry and to walk in with no greeting and see your server eating before taking your order is an alarm-no washing hands. Plus, we observed the young man wiping the knives with a cloth only to pick them up with his fingers afterward to place them into the knife holders-sanitation issue again.
She suggested where to sit but we found the table hadn’t been wiped down and had a dirty napkin on it, so we moved to another table. Ordered our food.
We were given an extra dish costing $23
that we didn’t order. We wanted to say something, but got a bad feeling about it, plus, we knew they would just throw it away- wasteful. So we ate it deciding it would give us a chance to try something different.
The food was not even worth the money we paid. The sausages were just “meh” like something from the supermarket, the Swedish Meatballs, I could have gotten better and more for the price from IKEA, the mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box, the gravy from a packet, the sauerkraut was disgusting- I’m German-the red cabbage was “meh”, and the schnitzel was dry.
Overall, the only food my family liked were the cheeseburger and shrimp- safe choices.
But even at that, my husband didn’t like the fries, and the coleslaw was absolutely disgusting! Waste of money since all he ate were the shrimp.
Not only did we not enjoy the food, but they overcharged us for a tip that I didn’t give them. I had to call the next day to solve this problem, which was taken care of right away, but not without placing blame on training a new person-I don’t care- the situation shouldn’t have happened in the first place! I’m glad it was taken care of quickly though. I will give them that for customer service.
Needless to say, we will not go back to this restaurant. Next time I go through town, l will go to the more established places.

Very good food and service, I ordered the special, which was Pesto Salmon with vegetables and roasted potatoes. I also ordered a green salad of fresh lettuces, tomato slices and cucumber with housemade ranch dressing and a glass of white wine. The salad was large and fresh and came with a side dish of the best ranch dressing I’ve tasted in years! Really delicious!
The Salmon entree was prepared well, not overcooked, and had delicious, tender-crisp vegetables of carrots and zucchini. This was a great meal!
The restaurant itself could use a refresh, but with delicious food and attentive service, it was a terrific experience. I will definitely return.

We wanted to try a danish/viking dish experience. Stumbled upon this hole in the wall. The food was good, we ordered the jalapeño poppers, the Sausage Taster appetizer & Sausage Kabobs. The sausage taster and sausage kabobs were basically the same thing except the kabobs were a $13 doñlar difference and only came with a small potato pancake and a small cup of apple sauce and a table spoon of sour cream. There may have been a language barrier, but the servers were kind.

We had some authentic danish food. It’s a nice little spot in the wall, but we’re starting to realize that danish food is not our cup of tea.

Slow Service and even slower staff…
Went in when it wasn’t busy (restaurant was less than half full), asked to sit outside, the waiter told us to sit at a table on the patio. Waited for 20 minutes and didn’t get a menu, I made eye contact with the waiter a couple times so they knew we were out there.
One of us went in and asked if we went in and asked if we could get the menus. A waitress handed him some menus and said someone will be out. Waited 15 more minutes and left because no one came.
Would never go back and can only assume the kitchen staff are as bad as the waiters. The entire 35 minutes we were waiting the table next to us had food on it, and was never even bussed… Pathetic… They weren’t even busy

Was asked to sit outside, maybe due to a big party that came later. Ordered the Swedish meatballs 1/5 because it was gamey where IKEA ones tasted way better. Steak was like rubber 1/5. Sausage tester was 1/5 where 1 out of 4 sausages was good. Clam chowder 1/5 as it was more like water The best thing was the mash potatoes.

While we were seated quickly and the food was good the service was absolutely garbage. We waited for almost 15 minutes for them to even take our drink order. It would have been longer if we hadn’t waived a server down. When the food arived two of the drinks were missing and one person in our group was brought cold soup and to top it off they brought the check as soon as we received the food. The restaurant was not all that busy and we felt ignored and rushed. It is very unlikely I will return.
