I had high hopes for this place but was sorely disappointed. They renovated a bit and spruced up the space so its brighter and cleaner. PLASTIC UTENSILS! Yes I’m clutching my pearls. Service was good! The menu was limited which was surprising. I took advantage of the happy hour menu so the price point was decent until I saw the tiny bowl of cabbage for five bucks. I ordered a salad only to be told 15 minutes later that they had no salad. The food wasn’t awful but the carribean dishes were watered down versions of the original. The shrimp(I had all 3..jerk(bland) grilled( not a grill mark in sight) and fried(barely seasoned) and the fried whiting was chewy, a bit gamey and not fresh. I expected authentic, tasty and well seasoned but that’s not what I got. The rice and peas wasnt bad and the cabbage was delicious. A DJ showed up and started blasting music so it was impossible to have a conversation without screaming to each other during our meal. I will give them a second chance because I want to supportive as a fellow Trini.

I ordered oxtails.. food came out barely warm.. rice hot at the bottom.. I called a total of 3 times attempting to speak with management but I have not been able to successfully reach anyone. The waitress was nice and offered to take the food back but I declined. I dint believe in sending food back to the kitchen after I received it. The food oxtails were seasoned to perfection but they were tough as rubber.. Here’s a suggestion.. cook your oxtails until they are falling off the bone. Customers want hot, fresh food.. not cold or barely warm food. Lastly, returning calls would prevent reviews such as this. I had to come home and finish cooking the oxtails and that’s not cool at all. The kitchen staff must do better!

My food was so good, I had the jerk chicken plate for $9 with cabbage + rice & peas, got the mac upcharge for $2 and it was worth it. Also ordered the jerk shrimp which was spic-ier to my friend but I didn’t mind it, it came with free sides so that was a plus. More waiters/waitresses should help them return to the tables faster. I definitely will be back.

First Sunday night old school dancing with some surprisingly good food! We had the chef saute up some jerk jackfruit, along with a Spice Island Vegan Roll, and fried plantains. All of it was hot, fresh and delicious! Our server was wonderful and very attentive!
We will definitely be back and hope to bring friends!

Let’s start with the atmosphere first… The lounge is beautiful! It’s nicely decorated with touches of the islands all throughout, and it’s really clean! Upon walking in you know you’re in for a great time/vibe. The customer service was amazing! From the hostess, to the bartenders, and even down to the waitresses everyone was friendly, and attentive. They made sure my party and I were well taken care of. The owners even came around to make sure that everything was to our liking. The food was *chefs kiss* everything was fresh, and full of flavor! I don’t think you can go wrong with anything that you choose to order. All in all we had a great experience and we will definitely be back. 10/10 highly recommended!!

Snapper was delicious. Beans,rice and cabbage was favorable. Mac and cheese skillet was on point. The ox tails were seasoned well but too fatty. I wont get those again but plan on going back to try other menu items. Oh the sweet tea is also delicious

My VSU friends and I had homecoming dinner at Spice and it was phenomenal . We were a large party and the service was fast, professional and warm. The ambiance was stunning. You feel like you are out of town which is what we all want right?! Best of all was the food, I ordered Shrimp Rasta Pasta and it was the best Rasta Pasta I have ever had. To top off the night, the DJ was dope and the owner stopped by the table and checked in and thanked us! A must see spot in Richmond !!!
