Dishoom Permit Room Brighton, an all-day bar-café is our tribute to the way Bombay kicks back and cuts loose – with round-the-clock deliciousness on the menu. Expect generous breakfasts like Bacon Naan Rolls, lunch deliciously on chaats, enjoy bar snacks before dinner, then feast on moreish curries. All accompanied by shindigs with DJs spinning eclectic music on the deck. The drinks’ menu has the likes of HighBalls, Frozen Lipsters, Teetotals – plus locally sourced beers and sippable wines . Harmony was probably the best waitress that we have ever had!! She was so friendly she made my husbands birthday so special, after the day had been going wrong, couldn’t believe the special touches she did, we were blown away! She certainly turned my husbands birthday around! The food has to be the nicest Indian style food we have eaten, absolutely deliciously and the atmosphere in the resturant was fantastic we will definitely be back when we next visit Brighton! A great experience 11/10!!! Highly recommend thanks so much!

We had a fantastic lunch at Dishoom – The Permit Rooms. Having visited other Dishoom locations before, we arrived with high expectations — and it absolutely delivered.
The interior is beautifully designed, set across several different levels, creating a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere with plenty of seating. It feels stylish without being overwhelming, making it perfect for both casual lunches and special get-togethers.
The food was outstanding, especially the crispy spinach, chilli chips, and the rich, flavourful black dahl. The mocktails were also excellent — creative, refreshing, and a great complement to the small plates. It’s an ideal spot for sharing dishes around the table and trying a bit of everything.
The service truly stood out. The staff were friendly, attentive, and incredibly accommodating, particularly with children and dietary allergies, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food, great service, and a lovely setting in Brighton.

The best meal I’ve had in a long time!
Order food like a tapas, we shared a curry, rice and two other dishes plus naan which was ample for two people. Flavours where amazing. The best bit was the mango lassi cocktail which was divine!!!!! Would go back just for that

After all the hype and glowing reviews thought we would try Dishoom for a evening meal . Loved the warm welcome by staff and the ambiance was great very inviting. Very busy Thursday night , so always book . Got advice from waitress about what was hot and mild really helpful.
Food was great , full of flavour and freshly made . Sadly the table was at the front of restaurant and not enough space , being knocked by everyone, glad we left dog at home not sure where she would have gone .
Overall £75 for 1 starter , 2 curry’s 2 rice and 2 beers was on the high side .
Didn’t like the mandatory 12% service charge for the 2 of us ! Rude !
But would still recommend it .

Firstly I was a Dishoon virgin, I was kind of aware of them, I’d been told by someone there was one in Kings Cross that did an amazing breakfast, but this was my first visit…..
Much larger restaurant than you would imagine from the outside and very busy too, especially for a Sunday night.
A very warm welcome on arrival and taken to our table.
Our waiter was very friendly and advised on the menu.
Service was quick and efficient.

Visited here tonight and there are absolutely no faults. Incredible food, served quickly and to high standards. Phenomenal cocktail programme and great wine selection. We were served by Michael Le and Will Bown, both incredibly attentive with lovely vibes! One of my new favourite restaurants, just a shame I live 100 miles away! And super dog friendly!!

Everything about this Indian restaurant is fantastic! The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are great for the price. The service is wonderful, very friendly, smiling, and fast. The atmosphere is also pleasant with good seating, though it can become quite busy and crowded. Since we hadn’t made a booking, we had to eat at the bar, which was perfectly fine.
