Naatu is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever tried. Their naans are outstanding—fresh, soft, and absolutely delicious The Andhra goat curry is a must-try, packed with bold, authentic flavors. The Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani is truly authentic and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for genuine South Indian and Hyderabadi cuisine.

We tried NAATU Indian Restaurant and started with the Chennai-style 65. It was aromatic, well-spiced, and the flour coating was fried just right. Every bite had good flavor. The egg curry with rice was okay, and the masala was mixed well.
The nalli biryani made with lamb shank was flavorful. The tava rice with meat and the mince on top gave it a different style. It had a spicy kick with clove in the mix, but still manageable if you enjoy heat.
The fish pollichattu, wrapped in banana leaf, had good flavor but felt a little undercooked and could use more time. The biggest disappointment was the lacha paratha. It was clearly deep-frozen and reheated on the tava, which made it tough and hard to bite.
Overall, it was still a pleasant night out, and I wish them the best. An average place with a few highs and a few misses.

My recent visit to Naatu Restaurant & Bar in Chicago was an absolute delight. This restaurant stands out for its authentic South Indian flavors and refined presentation. The highlight of my meal was the Nalli Goosh Biryani, a dish that perfectly balances rich spices with tender, flavorful meat — truly one of the best biryanis I’ve had in the city.

I also tried the Mutton Ghee Roast and Chicken Biryani, both of which showcased the chef’s skill and attention to detail. The mutton was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of heat and ghee aroma, while the chicken biryani offered a comforting yet bold flavor profile.

If you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience that captures the true essence of South Indian cuisine, Naatu Restaurant & Bar is absolutely worth your visit. Every dish reflects quality, care, and authenticity — a true culinary gem in Chicago

To start with, I am not someone that ever wr a review.
I couldn’t stop myself from writing for Naatu right from the restaurant itself.

Ordered Nalli gosht biryani, pacchi mirchi royyala pulav, malai chicken tikka and apricot delight.
The food is not only delicious but also absolutely fresh.

In all honesty, we loved every single dish with a 5/5. But, the KING of the show is Nalli Gosht Biryani.

Special mention for their service! Sai Shri served us and she was very cheerful.

The madras masala dosa, uttapam, ghee podi idli, and punugulu were the standouts for me those had good flavor. Overall, the food was good and the staff was really nice and welcoming. It’s a nice spot if you’re looking for South Indian food in Schaumburg.

If you’re anywhere near Schaumburg, just outside Chicago, Naatu is an absolute must visit for authentic South Indian cuisine.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming modern yet rooted in tradition. The aroma of fresh spices instantly transported us back home. Every dish we tried was packed with bold, authentic flavors and cooked to perfection.
The Masala dosas were beautifully crisp and golden, served with flavorful chutneys and rich sambar that tasted truly homemade. The mutton biryani was aromatic and perfectly spiced, and the curries had that authentic South Indian depth you rarely find. You can really tell they use fresh ingredients and take pride in their recipes.
The staffs (especially the lady staff)were attentive, friendly, and happy to explain dishes and make recommendations. Service was quick without feeling rushed.
Whether you’re craving comfort food or introducing someone to South Indian cuisine for the first time, Naatu delivers an outstanding experience. Definitely one of the best South Indian spots in the Schaumburg/Chicago area ,we’ll be coming back again and again!
Highly recommended

I came from Canada to Chicago and tried biryani at Natu restaurant. Unfortunately, I was not happy with the experience. The service was very disappointing — I ordered a starter and biryani, but they brought the biryani first and the starter later, which is not acceptable.

The food quality was not good and definitely not worth the price. The biryani pieces were very low quality and didn’t taste fresh. Especially the Vijayawada (Vijayawada-style) biryani is a must-ignore, chilli cken has more vinegar. it was not authentic and failed to meet expectations.

As someone who loves real biryani, this place did not satisfy at all. I would not recommend it.

Visited Naatu recently, and while a couple of dishes impressed us, the overall experience was frustrating and disappointing.

The nalli biryani and chilli shrimp were the stars—flavorful and well-cooked. The paneer butter masala was also decent. However, the paneer tikka tasted exactly like amla pickle—not pleasant. The pampert fish was fresh but completely bland.

The laccha paratha was a big letdown—hard, dry, and not layered at all, and at $5.99 each, it felt like a rip-off. To make things worse, we were charged for an item we didn’t even order.

The service was the worst part. We were a group of just 4, ordered everything at once, and still waited nearly 2 hours to get our food. Plates weren’t cleared, and staff kept repeating “5–10 minutes” with no follow-through. Partho was especially rude and unprofessional, adding to the bad experience.

The food has potential, but poor service, billing issues, and overpriced sides make it hard to recommend. Definitely not worth the wait or the stress.
