If you are in the area you should eat here. Its what dining was like 40 years ago before microwaves and Cisco foods was the purveyor to every restaurant. The food is more …. complex, flavorful, artful than the fare served at chain resturants. It was so good I would plan my passage through the state so I could eat here again and again.

The hubby and I have been twice in a few years. Not on the top of our places to eat. Pricey menu. We ate from the Buffett. It was okay. Lots of people really enjoy this place. It’s just not for me. Bathroom is tiny. Some of the staff not very friendly at all. More for the older crowd after church go there. Environment is cute and laid back. Not bad just not for me.

We stayed for the night in Roanoke Rapids and someone suggested that we go to David’s for dinner. We loved it!!! The atmosphere is so charming and the service and food was excellent. The fried veggies as an appetizer was really good!! The veggies were fresh and the batter wan’t overkill at all. We both had steaks and they were wonderful. David came and sat with us for a bit with his glass of wine and it was all so warm and cozy.

My wife had soft-shell crabs and loved it.
I had dry chewy lamb chops.
We’ll try David’s one more time, when passing though to or from Florida.
Update, evedently the only thing on the menu that looked good, again, were the lamb chops. I didn’t realize that’s what I ordered the first time.
No better.
From now on no David’s for us.

Visited Davids Restaurant on the way to Florida. It is located in a quaint town but has easy parking on the street. The restaurant has a surprising atmosphere and old time charm. Reminds me of an upscale old hotel from the 1960’s. The menu is very large, the service is great and the food is reasonably priced. We met the owner and he custom made the sea food plate of halibut shrimp and oysters based on my preferences that was fabulous. I don’t think there are many restaurants in this area of Virginia/North Carolina that have this type of food prepared so well.
In my opinion it is worth the trip to this unique restaurant.

My fiance and I are from Pennsylvania, but we are here temporarily for his job. Today was my birthday and he surprised me with going here. He knew nothing other than reading the reviews and decided it was worth checking out. When we got there we were 1 of 3 tables and nice music was playing. We were seated and recieved our drinks in 2 minutes tops. I ordered the fettuccini alfredo with chicken and per my request they made it cajun chicken and my fiance ordered the filet with a baked potatoe. Salads came out very fast and we both loved the ranch dressing. We had a slight doubt of the place based off of some of the other reviews, but they were shut out when we tried our meals. I loved the chicken fettuccine so much! He loved his filet also, cooked perfectly. Our server was very friendly also. It is on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for! Very nice.

The food was fabulous, the service was excellent! Our server Fabiola was delightful and helped make our anniversary dinner perfect! We will definitely visit again in the future. We highly recommend David’s in Roanoke Rapids.

What a treat! We stumbled onto David’s one Sunday after church. The Sunday buffet reminded me of Sunday dinner at grandma’s house. Everything was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely will return!

My boyfriend and I decided to try something different. We ended up at David’s restaurant and I’m glad we went there. The food was very delicious. The people that worked there were very polite and friendly. We will definitely go back again.
