I am a native SF Bay Area woman with specific needs – and Banh Mi Place hits. Over the last 4+ years, I consistently enjoy the classic and braised beef as well as a grilled pork sparingly. Their summer rolls are filling and the peanut sauce is close to perfect.
I don’t often order pho from here, however I will pick up a side of broth almost every time I order.
Staff is attentive, communicative, and sweet.

Delicious banh mi at a great price. I had the classic sandwich, and it was packed and tasty. I will say that the medium spice level was mild, so when they ask what spice level you want, I’d go a level up. Also had a tasty hot Vietnamese coffee – solid, but not mind-blowing. Three small tables and three stools with counter service make it toght in there. There is brisk pick-up and delivery business. It felt like there was a mini-army behind the counter, cranking out the sandwiches and drinks, but each and every person was nice and friendly!

What a meal! After a bowl of my grilled pork pho, I was ready to go to bed! So filling and flavorful! The young lady that took my order was such a sweetheart! She was very attentive and welcoming. She really added to the restaurant’s experience! My only con is a place like this deserves a bigger space, it’s a small spot. Definitely will be back!

I had the tofu pho and vegetarian fish and let me tell you, it was delicious! You can taste all the flavors, the broth is delicious. The vegetarian fish flavor and texture is something else. Shoutout to the lemonade with lime! Really good! I’ll be back for sure!
Vegan options!
Edit: went back for the banh mi and the sandwiches were extremely disappointing.

I have eaten here twice and honestly the food is just OK. The pho had no flavor. The broth tasted of water. The green Papaya salad was all carrots. The banh mi was skimpy on the meat. Overall disappointing. This is a hole in the wall restaurant. The dining area is tiny and uncomfortable. The bubble tea was fine but all ice if you ask me.

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the faux chicken Bahn Mi! This place has great portions, prices, and quality. It’s only a couple blocks walk from The Brooklyn Museum, so a great place to have lunch when you’re visiting. My daughter also had a pork platter, which got high marks from her. The Bun bowl was excellent, tasty spring rolls as well. I can’t wait to go back!

Banh Mi Place has been a neighborhood mainstay for me for 8 years, and isn’t going anywhere. Not only the best banh mi I’ve had in Brooklyn, but far and away the best value. A grilled pork banh mi + iced coffee from here on a summer day will cure your depression.

Favorite bahn mi spot – always fresh bread, juicy ingredients; also good pho.
Note: no restroom and surcharge for card payments

I was hesitant to order banh mi from this place since I’d tried so many spots and none could beat Lucy’s for a vegan/vegetarian option. But yesterday I walked by and decided to try their vegetarian chicken banh mi—really, really good. Generous portion, under $12. Honestly, I might not be going to Lucy’s anymore lol.
