I’m Mexican and originally from Chicago — where the Mexican food scene is top-tier — so trust me when I say this place is the real deal. This is hands-down the most authentic Mexican food I’ve found in SoFlo. I had the asada and pastor tacos with rice and beans — every bite was packed with flavor. 10/10, an absolute must-try!

We just tried the Taco King for the first time and the food was delicious. The salsa and guacamole is excellent. The tacos weee delicious and we all loved their home made rice and beans. We will be back soon. I this it deserves a weekly trip to Taco King.

This place is a hidden gem! One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. Great atmosphere, welcoming environment and amazing staff. Food was absolutely delicious. The snack table was very cool, showcasing genuine Mexican snacks. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good tasting and authentic cuisine.

Stopped in for some quick tacos and was impressed with the portion size and flavor. Would definitely go back.
Update I went back and it was even better. I really like their chips, they are thicker than other restaurants because they use their taco tortillas as the chips. Queso was also really good. Definitely a hidden gem in a plaza next to a gamestop and a bank and definitely worth trying if you like tacos and Mexican food.

We went in 30 minutes before closing and Cesar was very accommodating and very helpful with helping us order such last minute. His recommendations were delicious and I recommend anyone wanting to try this place out to give it a try. Added plus they have plenty of delicious Mexican snacks and candies you can pick and choose from. The music they play is amazing and the came out hot and fresh. Give this place a try! It’s a 10/10!

Was in the plaza and I saw a Now Open sign for Taco King! I love trying new places so I wanted to get a few tacos for dinner. Walking in, the restaurant is nice and clean. Plenty of seating for dine-in. There were also an eye capturing display of desserts by the front door. We went straight back to the counter and ordered with the cashier.
He answered our questions. There were a few things that we didn’t see on the menu that they were able to accommodate. For their jr tacos, they didn’t state on the menu if it can be changed to flour tortillas – it can. They also don’t have camaron – shrimp – listed on the jr tacos but they can make it. We ordered about 6 tacos, 2 drinks and a side of rice & beans. It came out to under about $45.
The food only took about 10 minutes which was great! We did take out and ate it at home. Great taste. I didn’t like that they used baby shrimp in the shrimp taco. The carne asada was a bit dry but a great portion size. They also have a pretty appealing lunch special – 3 tacos + rice and beans for $9.99. I would come back and try that for sure.

It was just okay. I had a chicken burrito combo with rice and beans. I really did not like the flavor of the stringy chicken. All the menu prices are cash prices. They add extra 4% to the menu price if you use a credit card.
I definitely would not have the chicken if I try them again. Tons of parking. Service was very quick.

First time here, the service was quick everyone is friendly. Not a long wait on the food to come out.We got the mixed fajitas, corn tortilla quesadillas and everything was tasty.The micheladas are very good too.
