Intimate, quaint spot offering organic coffee, pastries & soups, plus local art & live music.

I just had coffee with a friend starting at 10:30. I was kind of surprised how busy it was then, and how few people were there at noon. Were “those elderly guys” who just want to talk, so we didn’t have food, just the coffee. However, the coffee wasn’t really hot . I kind of cringe saying that because the staff is very nice, and accommodating, and the place is really ‘cool’ (old 60’s term)—with lots of college students (working hard on their laptops)—and older folks (a whole group of them at the front table talking pretty loud). We enjoyed the time there and perhaps next time I’ll ask for a VERY hot cup of coffee. It’s a good place, you’ll find you fit in somewhere.

Always a great experience at The Local Blend! This is one place where I know my sugar free latte is going to be good & not just bland & watery. There is a great selection of sugar free syrups, also. The food is fantastic.

My first visit to this coffee shop today was one of the best experiences. Welcoming and courteous staff, quiet ambience, variety of breakfast, lunch or dinner besides beverages to choose from, I can easily say this is a hidden gem in upper NorthWest Minnesota. 1000x better than name brand chain coffee shops. Planned only to have a cup of coffee with wifey but being impressed by the shop got ourselves a full sandwich with a soup of the day besides a cup of coffee. Learning we were there for the first time the kind staff added a bowl of soup with no extra charge to win our hearts. By best half the carrot cashew soup while I had the vegan chilly. Omg I am probably going to talk about this for a week with my friends and family.
I recommend everyone to visit this place and encourage the local shops like this.

Love the atmosphere here! The vibe is really cozy, I could see myself getting work done here or meeting up with friends. The fall specialty drinks were delicious. The food left me wanting though, the cookie was dry and quiche kind of bland. Other than the food, this place was awesome! I’d be back again and would just stick to the drinks. Also, if you are gluten-free this would be a great place to go because they have many gluten-free options!

The local blend is a great place however the second you look “out of place” they’re judgemental and do not care to give you good service. My mom went to get a drink and she has cancer that is on her head that she had surgery for and the second they saw her their expressions made her feel very unwelcome and like they were judging her. I called back to ask and let them know how she felt and she was rude to me and did not actually listen to me and I had to hang up because of it. She just kept saying the same sentence over and over instead of listening to me on how she came off.

Favorite coffee shop of all time! You will see me behind the counter most days! This is not only my favorite place to be in town, but in all Stearns country! The staff loves what they do & the customers are some of the best around! Great art work always on the walls, the best tasting coffee, and wonderful live music every Tuesday, Friday & Saturday nights!

I visited The Local Blend for a quick lunch during an event at the local college and ordered my fav item on the menu, the Avocado and Cheese Biscuit with fresh fruit. I also ordered the Fall in a Cup Latte and it was absolutely fabulous. I have been coming to the Local Blend since it was The Meeting Grounds and have always loved the food, service and atmosphere.

Decided to get away from the office for a bit during lunch to see how this place was doing since I knew it when it was “The Meeting Grounds”. I remember the food was beginning to deviate from processed to more wholesome, natural ingredients which was good but now it’s gone over the edge. When I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich I thought for certain fish was an ingredient; as it turned out after examination, it only consisted of smoked salmon bits (~10% meat).. Hopefully they return to their senses, simple foods made well and represented honestly.
See if you spot the salmon in the picture of the sandwich…
