Positives: Kinda fun hole-in-the-wall atmosphere. Marinara was yummy. Cheese pizza was ok. The server was attentive. Place seemed clean.
Negatives: The chicken parm was clearly made from low-quality frozen chicken. It grossed me out enough that I couldn’t finish my plate. It was a small portion that looks big because it comes in a deep ceramic dish but it’s mostly full of sauce with a small-ish puck of chicken in the middle. Soggy, not seemingly cooked through crust on the chicken. The chicken itself was a highly processed and mushy patty. I had high hopes based on the reviews for the garlic knots (rolls). The “amazing butter” they are drenched in can’t be real butter. The rolls tasted gross, like they were soaked in flavored vegetable oil or something. The bread itself was also disappointing.
I came here hoping to find a good local place where I could come regularly. I’m leaving hungry because I couldn’t eat the food it was so bad.

We were craving a deep dish pizza and man did they deliver! Half bacon pepperoni, half spinach tomato and garlic. SO GOOD! Highly recommend if you enjoy this type of pizza.

I had the chicken parm and it was amazing it came with the garlic knots and they were also soooo yummy.
I could really taste the love that went into making the dish and the sauce reminded me of home I could taste that they make it themselves
And even better it is more reasonably priced for so much food
The waitress was really sweet and everyone there was awesome
Definitely gotta come back for some pizza

I have a love affair with this place… Growing up in Gainesville, i always LOVED this pizza but never ate it enough… I think my dad wanted to use coupons at the local Pizza Hut instead.. and this place has been in business for about 50 years and its innards have NEVER changed… seating for only about 98 people, wooden partitions around the tables and the booths, are made of the same wood from when I was a youngster… LIVE ’s fill the restaurant, this place is so warm and welcoming.
Pizza is so utterly delicious and delectable and it’s like you are transported back in time and it is exactly as I remember it… and because of that, EVERY time I head to Gainesville I always drop what I’m doing and go there to eat.. NO matter what I’m doing or how long I’m there…
This place is Phenomenal and holds NOTHING but truly amazing memories for me… I’m in love… and have been for years..
1 more thing, DON’T do yourself a disservice and a disrespect to the Pizza and ask for Ranch to slop on it..

I’ve lived near Gainesville for years and remember seeing Leonardo’s Pizza commercials when I was a teenager. The pizza always looked so good, and I told myself I’d try it one day. Fast-forward to a few months ago when my family and I moved to Gainesville, and I spotted a Leonardo’s ad in a magazine—instant nostalgia!
We finally went last night, and it did not disappoint. The pizza was amazing! We ordered the Big Leo, and it was packed with flavor. My husband isn’t a big pizza person, and his only note was that the veggies could’ve been cooked a little longer, which I somewhat agree with—but honestly, it was still delicious. Next time, we’re planning to try the meat lovers version without veggies.
Service was mostly positive. Our waitress wasn’t unpleasant, just not very enthusiastic, but the gentleman at the door was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really set a great tone for the visit.
Overall, it’s still a solid 5 out of 5 for me. I’m so glad I finally tried it, and I’ll definitely be back!

Love this place! The pizza is fantastic, and the garlic knots are incredible! My mom likes to go here often both alone and with friends, so I joined her and am glad that I did! They have a huge word search on the wall with 46 hidden words at one of the tables to keep you entertained! If I had one complaint, then it’d be that the crust on the pizza was a bit burnt, and the crust is usually my favorite part so I couldn’t eat it. Our waitress was very friendly, and I noticed the other staff were in great spirits as well! Overall, I enjoyed my first experience at Leonardo’s, and I look forward to going back for more pizza and definitely more garlic knots!

My wife and I stopped today for the first time at this restaurant to grab a “slice of pizza” and keep going with our day.
As soon as we walk in, atmosphere was very welcoming with happy employees.
We ordered and waited for our “regular pizza pie” to arrive.
When a few minutes later, this lovely lady came with our order in a pan..
OMGGGGGGG!!! Thank God we asked for the medium size! She brought out this GORGEOUS pan pizza and set it on the table like a masterpiece it was.
We thought it was a regular pizza place but we were wrong. Everything was fresh and cook to perfection.
We had a Blast!!! At the same time we order to go a pepperoni canzone for my daughter.
Oooooohhhh Lord!!! Exquisito mmmm!!
Very affordable prices for their products, we highly recommend, and we will return..
