With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

Update Review:
My favorite drink is the Chocolate Macadamia Nut Granita with two extra shots. If you’ve ever had the Dutch Bros Annihilator this is similar and much better.

Got a frozen mocha with two extra shots and blueberry muffin top and both were great. The coffee tasted really good and the chocolate wasn’t over baring it.

Their coffee is amazing and everyone is always very nice. My one complaint is that they need to get thicker drink carriers, or at least start doubling up the ones they use currently. They are so flimsy and floppy and do not support the drinks whatsoever. Especially if you’re getting large drinks. It’s an accident waiting to happen. Other then that it’s great!

I went there just yesterday while trying to drive from Joplin back to KC wanting some coffee to hype me up! Well I have had MANY latte’s before, many. And they have NEVER tasted like this one. I got a hazelnut latte and it was THE MOST watery coffee I have ever had in my life. I was already having a horrible day and I was tight on money but still wanted a nice coffee to cheer myself up.. and i literally WASTED my money because I had to throw this coffee away. I was NOT going to drink it. It tasted nothing like hazelnut. I was very disappointed and I will never come here again.

I wanna love this place so bad but every item I’ve had,has tasted like something i made at home, which isn’t a good thing when im paying so much for it (if you know you know). The complimentary beans awesome amazing love them. The service is great but the drinks and the food are unfortunately not it for me. I keep going back to give chances and to maybe find something thats not home tasting because like I said i wanna love it I just cant yet.

This was my first time here. I had a birthday freebie to use and happen to be in the area, and excited to give them a try. I normally go for a simple, strong iced coffee. Today, I tried the pumpkin Java chip with espresso, and it was a delicious treat! I love that they carry pumpkin year round and that they have protein to add to any drink. The baristas were very friendly and helpful, and I can’t wait to stop back in!!

I love that as a company they care about their community, having several give back days to give back to their community. There are a ton of options if you have dietary restrictions (dairy, sugar free, or caffeine). Great management that cares about both customers and staff. Tons of wonderful drinks, no matter what flavors you prefer.
