The restaurant opened recently and we decided to give it try. The parking lot was quite spacious, but there was a thin sheet of ice and very slippery to walk on. We got seated right away. They brought out free chips and salsa. The paper menus were covered in food stains and didn’t look sanitary. There was a variety of options. We got shrimp tacos, veggie tacos and carnitas platter. Food came out quickly and was well seasoned. The ingredients tasted pretty fresh. Overall the food was good but definitely on the pricier side for what they had to offer. Also for some reason, there was a 4% extra charge on top of each item on the menu, and we just realized that after we have paired the bill. But the staff didn’t mention it at all. Just something to be aware.

Best birria tacos in town . Very filled with birria beef with a double shell. Better than Adelina’s and Nina’s for sure. Also has birria available in burritos and taquitos. Coconut shrimp was handmade. Very good but its Sauce was just ok. Place is small and popular so make a reservation otherwise don’t complain if they are full. Tuesdays only they make their own Tortilla shells from scratch . No one else’s is doing that. Chips are not overly salted like some places which is nice. Service is fast and friendly. Crowded with no booths and tables are close together. Everything was good and well made. Large bar. Take out too.

Was wanting to try something new instead of going to the usual place for Friday lunch date with the hubby, and decided to try out Mamaitas.
The food was excellent, myself having got the nachos fajita and my husband the burrito chocho. Food came fast and server was attentive. Will be back again.

I’ve been to Mamitas a couple times now. The food is delicious! Fresh and packed with flavor. The birria tacos are fantastic. I love that you get fresh chips and salsa right when you sit down. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
I got the house margarita. Not bad but left something to be desired. Wasn’t very strong, tasted a little watered down. The sangria was delicious though! I would also love if they added a build your own burrito option.

I want to state that the owner and staff are extremely nice and willing to fix issues! However, I ordered the burrito California and I really thought I had the wrong order. It stated it was “filled’ with steak or chicken, rice, beans, guac, cheese, and fries And served with fries. I was born and raised in San Diego and a California burrito has fries IN the burrito. Which it also states in the menu.
I called later in the night and stated that I must of gotten the wrong order because It had peppers in it and no fries inside. But did on the side. The gentleman on the phone told me he was sorry and come back tomorrow, took my name and order and they will remake it.
I returned the next day and everyone was confused and it was kinda awkward. I said I was going to buy something else too with the remade meal (the elote corn) because I felt bad having them remake it. They said don’t worry about it was 50% off then said it was free. Gave me my order and it was the same thing.. and they didn’t give me the corn I didn’t say anything because it was free anyways and it already seemed awkward, but my daughter wanted it.
I will just state that is not a California burrito and I got two different burritos both times. Just frustrating for $20 to be served with fries on the side that should be in the burrito…Service did try to fix the issue but the description of the item is wrong and inconsistent.
As well, I ordered on doordash for pick up. This was the picture connected to item and this is what we picked up. I don’t want to slam this place at all because it was still good and they were very helpful! Just disappointing.

We went on a Saturday night, and the service and food were incredible. They were efficient, accommodating, and knew their menu. The food as more of an authentic flavor and it tasted incredibly fresh. It was reasonable in cost and just an overall great experience. We are going back.

Came for dinner tonight and LOVED it! We started with the stuffed jalapeños and I got the steak street tacos and my husband got the chicken flautas. All three were packed with flavor and very filling. The jalapeños were hot but I love spice, just a warning! Staff were very attentive and friendly-they were on top of refills and answered many questions. The bathrooms smelled clean which is a plus. I’m so glad they opened in Penfield as we are new to the area, will be returning soon!!

Hubby and I went for the third time this weekend. It’s one of my favorite Mexican spots now. The food is delish everytime …. Servers are great, the place is small but homey and cute. They have temporary alcohol permits now for Fridays and Saturdays while they wait for their full one. Highly recommended
