What a gem in Mt. Holly! The hostess is a sweetheart, and is very fun to chat with. What a warm and welcoming environment! A solid variety of coffee options, and some tasty food to boot! Their “make your own breakfast” bowl was delish; I enjoyed the hash browns, eggs, cheese, spinach, & avocado. They have these little cutie blueberry muffins, too, which are a sweet treat. The cinnamon pinwheel hit the spot, and I’m stoked to share this baklava with my fam. It’s my brother’s family’s fave spot to eat breakfast sammies! The pastry selection is unique; they even have beignets & macrons. The pink and green decor w/ the plants is cute. Overall, such a delight to enjoy & begin my day with! Come check it out, y’all, they’re a great locally owned and operated restaurant!
Mt. Holly should do them more justice with advertising by the road; since the shopping area in which they’re located is pushed back a ways, it’s harder to see their storefront, which does them a disservice because they’re so great.

This was my first time in, and I’ll definitely go back. The vanilla latte was delicious but could have been hotter. The young lady that made my latte was very sweet. However, the customer service was lacking a bit. I would love to have known more about the business and their offerings, but there wasn’t much interaction with the employees. The French toast muffin is incredible! It’s not too sweet and tasted just like French toast. I would appreciate napkins being out for customers and maybe not use so much bleach when cleaning the floors. I wanted to dine in, but the smell was too strong. I think this place could definitely be a staple in the community.

The cleanliness was impeccable, every corner of the space was spotless, which added to the overall comfort of the experience.
The staff were professional, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. They made me feel welcome and were happy to answer my questions about the menu. The coffee was outstanding—rich, flavorful, and perfectly brewed and paired beautifully with the freshly made pastries and light bites. I also had the Philly and chicken cheese sandwiches and they were delicious with perfect serving sizes. Can’t beat the pricing!

My own experience was unfortunate. My sister and I both went in expecting to find a place to chill out for an hour with a nice drink and treat but we got there, walked in.. chairs are on the tables and the employees in the back look up at us and keep talking to themselves until I greet them from the counter. They say hi and continue talking to themselves and doing dishes or something? Either way we’re grateful for that aspect because the food looked old and gross and we were worried the drinks would come out janky. Did not try anything. Vibes were gross on everything.
This was all around 2 in the afternoon.
Completely opposite representation from their pictures online.
Like I said.. just unfortunate. That was our experience and view points.

They have a special going on where you can get a smash burger or wings with a side of fries for $10.99. I went ahead and tried their smash burger with fries and was NOT disappointed . From the friendliness and welcoming atmosphere to the very attentive employees constantly checking to see if i needed anything and communicating to me while waiting for my order .. it was just an incredible experience . I would recommend Passions cafe & pastry to anyone looking for a welcoming coffee shop , pastry shop , or for breakfast and lunch options .
Shoutout to the cashier and chef ! You guys didn’t disappoint . I will be back ☺️. Thank you for an amazing experience .

Fantastic little gem. We ordered the easy like Sunday morning latte, mini cookie butter muffin, and bacon, egg and cheese on everything bagel… Delicious! This will be my new go to when I am craving a weekend brunch spot.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews but my experience was not positive. The coffees we ordered were fine, nothing to write home about – but what bothers me is that I ordered a pastry item, and while I was told maybe a 2-5 minute wait, it ended up being over 20, and it was still frozen in the middle. Maybe it was an off day but I will not return and cannot rightly recommend. Wait time seems to be a common issue throughout the reviews.

I called in my order of shrimp and grits the lady who answered said 20 – 25 minutes I arrived a little after 25 minutes my order still wasn’t ready. The cashier said another 5 minutes. It took 40 minutes to receive my call in order of shrimp and grits and I did not like the shrimp and grits, it wasn’t enough seasoning for me. Also there was a sign that says free coffee with purchase of a breakfast sandwich, I asked if it only applies to the breakfast sandwich or if I can have a coffee with my order while I wait and the cashier went to check with the cook or manager and said sorry you’d have to purchase a breakfast sandwich for the free coffee. I would get it because that’s the deal but it should have still been offered for the inconvenience of the wait. Also the portion size was so small. Totally not worth the money or the wait, I had to add some salt when I got back home. I try to support black owned businesses but you actually have to be ready for the demand. Waiting 40 minutes for shrimp and grits and not offering a beverage for the wait was insane. My first experience wasn’t a good one so I won’t be going back.

Standing outside at the DMV that’s a few storefronts down, I thought it convenient to walk in for a quick breakfast. I was the only one sitting down, actually I was the only one in seating area for the most part. I had ordered French Toast, eggs & potatos with a latte.
As I’m the only one sitting there, figured it wouldn’t take long for my food to arrive but yet it took close to 25 minutes. That’s excessive for a breakfast dish & when it’s not busy.
On the upside, the food was good but as I write this review, I do feel my stomach not sitting well with my first meal of the day. Not sure I’ll return.
Also they had my food to go which is all & good but I didn’t ask for take out nor was the question asked so there’s that.

Very clean, seems unorganized and slow. I initially attempted to order a hotdog, the young lady said OH we don’t setve anything on the right side of the board anymore. ERASE the board please! I then looked into the pastry case…slim pickings! The sandwich that I ordered had bacon,don’t remember the name of it. I had been waiting about 15 minutes and I got a text from the dmv. I asked how long? She said that we are waiting on the bacon to get done. In about 2 to 3 minutes I was done. The sandwich was cut in half and a half of a slice bacon was on each half and the bacon was flimsy NOT crunchy. The sandwich was not good! I wish them the best as I could tell that it was a new business. I would suggest you spend more on a few things than a little on a lot also be mindful of time since some come from the dmv. This experience was enough for me not to return but maybe someone else’s experience will be better than mine.
