My family and I usually go to the Chicken Express down on Cooper, but today we went to the one on Broad Street for the sole reason that it was closer. What a shame that it was a fatal mistake.
The moment we open our 40-piece meal (which costed about $54 with tax), the boxes fell apart. The coleslaw was expired and we got a bag filled with a bunch of crushed rolls (which I still do not understand the purpose of). The chicken was dry, and it didn’t taste fresh compared to the chicken I ate at the Chicken Express on Cooper.
The only positives were that they gave us more than 40 chicken tenders and the sweet ice tea was fine. However, they forgot to give us extra gravy (because we got two mashed potatoes for our side dishes). We usually get two small gravy cases and two big ones, but here, we only got two small ones.
I cannot speak for the other meals at the place, but the 40-piece family meal was terrible. I’m already boiling water to make my ramen because the chicken is too dry to even stomach.
Hopefully, this reaches someone before they too waste $54 on this.

I honestly don’t even know if anyone would believe me, but we went today & ate inside. My bf swears he hears a dog bark in the back towards the kitchen area. I say, no, there’s no way. We hear it again… and again.. This time a worker says the dogs name to shut him up. I’m not sure if the dog was around the kitchen area or maybe in a back room but it was most DEFINITELY a dog in this establishment around the kitchen area. We were also the only people inside. So… take that as you will but.. maybe find another Chicken Express to go to.

Changing my 5 star review to 1 star. Came on 7/29 at 9:42pm and was told that they did not have any food to serve us except for sides and drinks. They refused to make us the 25 tenders family pack that we wanted to order. This is a large amount of money to turn away since we were going to be getting a gallon and a large tea as well. The last visit here was not much better, we had to settle for something other than what we wanted to get, and when we got home some distance away we discovered that we did not get a drop of gravy with our family order. So upsetting. We will not be coming back to this location period and I will be talking to corporate in the morning. I am so disappointed with this location… Chicken Express is my very favorite restaurant. Luckily, we were served next door at Jack in the Box and they treated us extremely well. Thanks, Jack!

We ate chicken express for dinner and got the 30 piece family tender meal with 3 sides and two fish, this cost 50 dollars and we had to wait 30 minutes in the drive thru, nothing was fresh, the tenders were burned and shriveled, the catfish was overcooked, the dinner rolls were terrible, and fries and okra were ice cold. This is ridiculous to pay all this money for poor quality food.

The food is excellent and I received my order with a smile. But they forgot the additional rolls I ordered. It was only 3.70 but we needed those rolls as we had company that evening. I went to their website to advise but the “submit” link doesn’t work. I’d rate higher if I could have resolved the roll issue.

When we got home we did not have the mashed potatoes and gravy so we called and spoke to the manager I believe the name was Keith he asked if we were coming back to get it and we said no so he said multiple times as though we were not being truthful that we must have the receipt in order to come and get the mashed potatoes and gravy then said he would only honor it for 5 days! So the staff screwed up our order and now we only have 5 days to swing by and pick up what we have already paid for! This was horrible customer service and this manager needs some serious training with how to handle customer complaints not even once did he apologize for their error and really did not offer anything in return!

Apparently the employees that count strips count these as one each. Good luck getting a family fed if your box is full of these. Also. No masks on any employees. Extremely concerning being that its mostly teenagers and the delta variant is spreading even more by there age group than any others. I will not be returning to this location until there is at least a mask requirement and my strips aren’t nugget size. Hugely disappointed in both quality and carelessness.

Order 50 tenders and 4 family okra and service was fast and foor was hot
