La Popular is an incredible new spot to hang and enjoy your Hollywood afternoon. We had the pleasure of having Anthony as our wonderful server and he lead with kindness and was so fun! I suggest the breakfast burrito as there are French fries in it and pearl that with the side salad or even a solid trio of fish tacos to share. The salsa is amazing that comes with the chips and like real Mexico City cuisine there is a freshness that is undeniable. There is a tequila cart that is taken around with all sorts of juices, nectars and horchata for you to enjoy the mixers of. Mia was awesome and explained it all to us as she carted it around the entire restaurant. Tuesday will be when we come here again as it’s all day happy hour and drinks within the $7 and $8 range. Also Sunday brunch is a must as it starts at 10am and ends around 3pm and it’s only on Sundays so this is perfect for a post church stop thru. Thank you for making us feel like we are in Mexico City again – like them – you all have true heart and I look forward to being back!

We visited this restaurant twice during our trip, and each time was a great experience. The staff was very friendly, and we loved sitting outside by the fire pits. We enjoyed their Paloma and whiskey on the rocks, along with the chicken fajitas and chips with guacamole. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I’m really happy we found this place while visiting LA and highly recommend it.

La Popular is a beautiful restaurant with a great location. We enjoyed our dinner outside on the patio next to the firepit. The servers and staff were friendly. The tequila cart was a nice touch Our only issue was the salsa and tortilla soup didn’t have much flavor.

My wife and I saw an advertisement for LA Popular Taqueria Restaurant in Hollywood on Facebook and decided to check it out. We were surprised to find that it was located directly on Hollywood Boulevard inside the Ovations building. Also, we were quite pleased to see that we had easy access to Ovation’s parking structure which allowed the evening to begin extra smoothly. What made this part of the night better was our parking was validated by the restaurant for up to two hours, which was a total win! We happily made our way up to the restaurant located on the second floor and were instantly impressed. The restaurant has only been open for three months and is super immaculate! There are beautiful decorations inside and outside. It also has the perfect ambiance for either dinner or cocktails. The seating was perfectly assorted with ample space to sit anywhere for large groups or intimate couples, both inside and outside. The fire pits located outside helped set the mood too. We felt very fortunate to be dinning there. Our server was Anthony P. He represented the company well. Anthony was professional, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient! He made sure that we had everything we needed and wanted, and it was all done in a timely manner. We were fortunate to have him as our server! Thank you Anthony! You Rock!! We were equally impressed with every other staff member we encountered as well. Each one with a warm and friendly greeting, and smile, to make us feel welcome. We were also amazed by the traveling tequila cart which made its way through the restaurant. The young ladies who were in charge of it had the perfect presentation to help patrons enhance their evening with choice beverages. We have never witnessed anything like this before and felt it was a brilliant touch for the establishment. Lastly, I would be remised if I did not mention the main reason we were there, the food. In a word, it was Delicious! My wife had the beef enchiladas which were made to perfection! The meat and sauce were prepared just right. The rice and beans were seasoned with a flavor rivaling every other rice and bean combination we have ever tasted. (Chef’s Kiss)! l, on the other hand, had the happy hour tacos. I had two made with succulent prime rib and one made with tender chicken, which were all divine! I added chips and guacamole too. The chips were freshly prepared, the guacamole was amazing and I had Anthony add steak bites to my guacamole to enhance the experience. This appetizer was scrumptious! I finished my night off with the chicken fajitas with corn tortillas which were Yummy! My tastebuds were in heaven! We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and my wife topped hers off with a warm, tasty, butter cake topped with ice cream and fresh strawberries. This was the right way to end it. What an epic way to finish a wonderful dinner! We truly enjoyed ourselves! This is a night we will not forget! We highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy excellent food, thirst quenching drinks, top notch service, and gorgeous surroundings! Thank you Anthony P., and all of the other staff members working at LA Popular Hollywood! You all are the BEST! Keep up GREAT WORK!!

What a beautiful restaurant. It’s in the Highlands in the location of the old California pizza kitchen and they really done a lot to make this place beautiful. Lovely large outdoor patio, mostly covered. I think they’re shutters over head. Beautiful outdoor rock fireplaces. Interior is lovely as well. Very cozy and inviting with just beautiful decor. Such a beautiful restaurant!
We came in on a very wet and rainy Tuesday for happy hour all day because who doesn’t love that?! Seven dollar margaritas! We started with the salsa tray and the homemade chips are nice and warm and crunchy and a couple of the salsa’s are extremely hot. Pretty original flavors. Serrano chilies, very present and two of them. Then we had the cheese crusted tortilla from the happy hour menu and that was very tasty with great texture and great flavor. Then we had the tacos à la cart and the chicken Tinga as well as a ribeye taco & both were very flavorful with nicely seasoned meat. The chili pineapple mango margarita was very tasty but a little weak.
Relli served us as well as Ricky and both were very attentive and very helpful with what to select from the menus. Highly recommend!

Great restaurant! Everything was amazing — very tasty and fresh food, excellent Mexican cuisine. Perfect guacamole and ceviche! The place looks beautiful inside, cozy and stylish. Staff were friendly and fast. I really enjoyed it and will come back!

A very pretty restaurant. Ate there for dinner Saturday and for Sunday brunch. The service was friendly and satisfactory but weird, they kept saying things that made it feel like they knew that we had been waiting too long to be helped. Dinner was solid, the butter cake was especially delicious for dessert. As for brunch, they sliced the breakfast burrito into an uneatable shape.To our waiters credit, they said they would give the feedback to the kitchen, but also tried to excuse it as fancy and something that is done on cruise ships. Pardon me, but it is stupid. The breakfast enchiladas were tasty, and the mimosa flight was cute too.
